Dear Families,Welcome back to term four. It is going to be an exciting term with swim scheme, Year 5 and 6 major excursions, Arts Under The Stars, Kindergarten Orientation, Gold and Platinum medal PBL celebrations and end of year trip to Murwillumbah pool. Before we know it summer holidays will be here.Congratulations to Luna and Rhianna who represented North Coast at PSSA State Softball championships at the end of last term. Good luck to the year 6 students who are trailing to become part of the 2020 Combined High School Softball team. Welcome to Julie and Rhiannon who are pre-service teachers learning skills on Binging and Jullum and to Chiara who is completing a TAFE certificate to become an SLSO. Chiara is working with Yugoori and Gargoon.Congratulations to Matt and Ellena Hall who were married in the school holidays. The children are lucky to have such good role models for respectful relationships in our school.Brunswick Heads, in conjunction with other local schools, has become part of an exciting program run by Deadly Running Australia called Deadly Fun Run Series. The Deadly Fun Run Series (DFRS) is an initiative that introduces running and walking to regional, remote and city communities in a fun, non-intimidating environment for men, women and children. The DFRS will consist of four, 5kms fun runs/walks in the Ocean Shores, Brunswick Heads and Mullumbimby areas. The runs/walks are open to ALL COMMUNITY MEMBERS, Indigenous and non-Indigenous, and FREE to enter. After the fourth race, four Indigenous participants will be selected to run in the Deadly Fun Run championships at Uluru in May- all expenses paid! The first event will be on Saturday 16th November. More details and an application form will be sent home soon. FAIRTASTICTHIS SATURDAY! Everyone has been hard at work, and this is why our Halloween Fair is such a success! So thank you in advance. Your checklist of ‘what you can do’ is on the back page of the newsletter. See you on Saturday in your costumes!

RIDE PASSESTake advantage of the $5 discounted ride pass and pay in cash at the office before Friday morning. Pre-paid passes will be handed out to students on Friday at school ready for the rides on Saturday! Spare forms are at the office and on the school website.

KINDER ORIENTATION An unprecedented number of excited students attended our Kinder Orientation this morning! This was the first of four weeks spent getting to know our school and staff. Thank you Mrs Thompson and her support crew for running a wonderful event.

TERM 4 SPORTHere’s a snap shot of the sports on offer this term: fishing, golf, beach games, tennis, skating, swimming, water polo, gym, martial arts, lawn bowls, t-ball, dance and soccer! Plus Swimming Scheme begins on November 11 for years 2 & 3 and selected students.

UPGRADED HALL SOUNDDue to a very generous P&C donation of $5000, the school hall sound system has been upgraded! No more scratchy outdoor speakers! Just in time for the Fair and Arts Under The Stars. Planning is underway for stage 2 is for whole school outdoor music & alert speakers.

Dear Families,Now is our time to shine!

Our amazing school relies on our fundraising to give our kids the best schooling experience possible.

Together we can make this Fairtastic the most successful yet!!!

To ensure the fair runs smoothly please see the below list :

Take note of your rostered volunteer hour. Any adult family member or friend can do the shift.

If you can volunteer more time or if you have any questions, please contact your class rep. Their details are on the note/email from last week.

Come and help set up on Saturday from 8am - many hands are always needed! We are making sushi in the staff room from 8am. Come and learn!

Pre-purchase your child’s ride pass from the school office (cash only please) by Friday

Make a curry using one of the recipes supplied (Facebook, School stream & website has a copy)

Make cakes, biscuits, slices, muffins

Make a salad (potato, pasta, green, coleslaw)

(Bring these to the school canteen on Friday 25th or Saturday 26th Oct – please include an ingredients list with salads, cakes, etc – Thanks!)

Donate your old soft toys for carnival prizes

Donate chocolates and lollies for carnival prizes

Lend or donate Halloween decorations for our new Haunted House (bring to the office before Friday 25th)

Lend us your rice cooker or slow cooker for the curry stall

Tell all your friends to come along - share the Facebook posts - FAIRTASTIC

Remember to bring lots of gold coins for the Carnival Arcade and dress up and enter the best costume competition – See you at FAIRTASTIC!
