It was rewarding to see students decked out in their faction colours, striving to do their best, being considerate of their peers and behaving responsibly. Thank you to the many parents who helped with setting up, judging and time keeping and packing up, we could not run the carnival without your support. Thank you also to the many parents, grandparents and friends who were there to encourage their children, creating a positive competitive atmosphere. Thank you Natalie Kelsall for her work preparing students for the carnival and for teaching primary physical education classes this term, Janet Gowland will take over from Natalie in Term 4. Parents of children who turn 4 years old on and before 30 June 2018 are asked to enrol their students in Kindergarten for 2018 if they have not done so already and are invited to attend Come and Play sessions next term. To assist with planning and to avoid late changes to classes, parents are asked to inform the school if their children will not be attending in 2018. Early next term the school will be distributing the National School Survey to seek feedback from parents on the performance and operation of the school. The School Council has included additional questions seeking feedback on the school’s communication with parents and the provision of homework. A high response rate to the survey will assist with the school’s review and planning for 2018. Last week’s Athletics Carnival was a good example of our school’s values and

expectations and of the generous support the school receives from parents. It

colleagues and for her enthusiasm for exploring, modelling and

sharing new writing strategies.

for students.

Wildlife Oz Incursion

The West Oz Wildlife team visited

students in the Bannister block on

Wednesday, 20 September. The

students were introduced to some

Australian animals, including a koala, a

dingo and reptiles. The children learnt

interesting animal facts and

viewed a snake safety

demonstration on what to do

if you see a snake in the wild.
