T here have been engineering innovations within group companies. The latest example was the excellent coordination between Team MICT and Team HICT. A hydraulic telescopic boom cylinder failed at HICT on machine reach stacker no 05. Team HICT faced the BD of this telescopic boom cylinder. They tried their level best to repair the cylinder at Kolkata but due to the non-availability of a suitable large workshop, the facility was unable to get it repaired. MICT had a Linde machine with similar cylinders. A detailed study was conducted: Checking of the part numbers of the HICT and MICT cylinders to see if there was a like replacement. Checking the hydraulic working pressure ranges necessary for the smooth operations for the HICT and MICT machines. It was found that the parts were identical and could be exchanged. There were two options: 1. To bring the cylinder to Mumbai to get it repaired within 10 days and then to send it back to HICT and to install it for operations. 2. To remove one of the telescopic boom cylinders of the Linde machine from MICT and send it to HICT. Within 1.5 days, the boom cylinder of RS06 was removed and sent to HICT. We learned that there was a problem at HICT regarding transportation, so it reached HICT within 7 days. The machine was then made operational by the HICT team and it continues to generate revenue at HICT. Benefits More than 20 days were saved in makingRS05 operational compared to if the RS06 boom cylinder had been not sent to HICT. Interplant coordination and learning increased for handling of crises. Direct saving in revenue generation by fixing the machine quickly. Most importantly, it created togetherness between the two group companies www.ict.IN //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// 1 MUMBAI international caRGO terminal www.ict.IN ISSUE IV NEWSLETTER ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// MICT MUMBAI Engineering Handshakes By Group Companies At Mumbai International Cargo Terminal And Haldia International Container Terminal 01 ENGINEERING HANDSHAKES BY GROUP COMPANIES AT MUMBAI INTERNATIONAL CARGO TERMINAL AND HALDIA INTERNATIONAL CONTAINER TERMINAL 02 MICT: HR AND IR PROGRAMMES Table of Contents INVESTOR AWARENESS PROGRAMME COUNSELLING FOR CHILDREN

  • There have been engineering innovations within group companies. The latest example was the excellent coordination

between Team MICT and Team HICT.

A detailed study was conducted:

Checking of the part numbers of the HICT and MICT cylinders to see if there was a like replacement.
