Principal’s message:

Kia ora nga matua me nga whānau On Monday June 12, I attended a meeting with primary and secondary school principals as well as Early Childhood Education leaders to further discuss the possibility of forming a Community of Learning (known as a CoL) here in Masterton. There were some excellent ideas presented around how this group could strengthen learning in our town as well as thoughts about what some of the difficulties may be. WRISSA X-COUNTRY

On Wednesday 7 June, a group of MIS students travelled over to compete in the Wellington Regional Intermediate School Sports Associaton (WRISSA) Cross Country event. This was a highly successful day for our runners with the most outstanding result being Jack Hunter who won the Year 7 event with daylight in second place! Here is a picture of Jack coming into the finish – he looks as though he could go around again!

HOW TO PREVENT YOUTH DROP OUT IN SPORT

For your information: Thank you Makoura!

This week our Year 8 students are enjoying some time learning about the opportunities available to them at Makoura College. This is an opportunity made available to all colleges in the area and we really encourage all families to have a good think about which option is best for them. Here are some MIS students in action in the Makoura Services Academy and in the Makoura Art Department.
