5S NEWSLETTER Monday: B day. We had Japanese, P.E., and Music. We had the cruncher test in P.E. A cruncher test is where you count how many crunchers (half pushups) you can do. Tuesday: C day. 5S NEWSLETTER Monday:  B  day.  We  had  Japanese,  P.E.,  and  Music.  We  had  the  cruncher  test  in  P.E.  A  cruncher  test  is  where  you  count  how  many  crunchers  (half  push-­‐ups)  you  can  do.    Tuesday:  C  day.  We  had  Art.  In  art,  some  people  were  finishing  their  self-­‐portraits,  Picasso  style,  while  some  are  still  on  the  way.    

Word  of  the  Day  

Monday:    Philistine    noun        A  smug,  boorish  person.  

Tuesday:    Charisma    noun        An  extraordinary  grace  or  gift  

Wednesday:  D  day.  The  specials  classes  we  had  were  Japanese,  choir,  and  a  make-­‐up  day  for  P.E.  In  choir,  we  had  practiced  our  choir  songs  that  we  will  sing  in  the  spring.    Thursday:  E  day.  We  had  a  rehearsal  for  Numazu  first  thing  in  the  morning.  We  had  a  rock  ritual  for  Anna  in  the  afternoon.  A  rock  ritual  is  when  the  person  who  is  going  away  chooses  a  rock,  and  everyone  takes  a  turn  saying  a  memory  about  the  person  when  holding  the  rock.  All  the  memories  get  pushed  into  the  rock,  and  the  person  takes  the  rock  with  memories  with  them  so  they  can  remember  us.    Friday:  F  day.  Today,  we  had  students  from  Katoh  Gakuen  in  Numazu  come  to  ASIJ  to  be  our  buddy  for  the  day,  Even  though  we  were  only  together  for  a  day,  everyone  made  friends  with  them  quickly!  We  also  had  to  say  bye  to  Anna  who  is  moving  away  to  America.  Even  though  she  is  away,  we  will  always  remember  her.            

Wednesday:  Verisimilitude    noun  The  aperients  of  being  real  or  true.  Thursday:    None  

Friday:  None
