The Children’s Creativity Foundation is hosting their annual Creativity

Gala on Dec. 8, 2012, at the Skirvin Hotel in Oklahoma City.

The Creativity Gala will help raise money for children to explore their creativity and to help sustain The Children’s Creativity Foundation as the top nonprofit advocates for creativity.

The event will feature a plated dinner, entertainment and a live auction of art pieces created by the children. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased at www.tccf.org. This year The Children’s Creativity Foundation is expected to raise over $250,000. With the help of celebrity news personality Giuliana Rancic, the popularity of the Creativity Gala has skyrocketed.

The goal of The Children’s Creativity Foundation is to inspire children that are not given the opportunity to use their creativity in the classroom. With The Children’s Creativity Foundation, teachers and parents can be reminded that creativity is a priority.

The Children’s Creativity Foundation was founded in 2012 and is a creative, artistic environment for children to make artwork and produce creative ideas. The goal is to show children that creativity can give them more opportunities in life.

The Creativity Gala

To our creative kids and families,

I want to thank you for your continued support of The Children’s Creativity Foundation. We realize that there are many different tools available to help children explore their creativity, but we think you have made the right choice by using The Children’s Creativity Foundation. Throughout the year we provide art supplies and canvases to let the children explore their creativity through artwork. The amount of creativity that I see from children during their time with us is remarkable. It is sad to say that many people do not realize the importance creativity has in our lives.

“Research has shown that the cultivation of creativity is a key component of programs and strategies to produce positive outcomes for youth,” according to Building Partnerships for Youth Foundation.

In order to raise awareness for the importance of creativity, The Children’s Creativity Foundation hosts a Creativity Gala, annually. At the Creativity Gala we raise money to help us sustain as a nonprofit organization. With the money that we raise at the Creativity Gala we purchase the supplies needed to produce a creative environment for the children and compensate our board members. Many of the people you will see at The Children’s Creativity Foundation are volunteers, and we thank them for their continued support. It is our goal to raise more money than ever before this year. With this money raise we can expand our facilities. I am happy to report that The Children’s Creativity Foundation has reached a level of sucesses that we were never expecting. It is all thanks to you and your families. Creativity Scholarship Given to Local Boy

His creativity helps him think outside the box and continues to help him to develop into a well-

rounded person.

Walker Wilson, 10-year-old Stillwater, Okla., local, was presented with a scholarship from The Children’s Creativity Foundation on Wednesday at Westwood Elementary School.

Kelsey Goddard, CEO of The Children’s Creativity Foundation, along with Amanda Becker, communications director, presented Walker and his family with the scholarship and a newly framed piece of art that Walker recently created.

“The scholarship was given to help start a fund for Walker to take art classes in college,” Becker said. “Walker is a regular at The Children’s Creativity Foundation, and we could not have picked a more deserving little boy. We know this scholarship is going to the right person.”

Walker has participated in almost every activity The Children’s Creativity Foundation has hosted. Walker’s parents started bringing him the first day The Children’s Creativity Foundation opened and they have been regulars every week since then. His parents are advocates for expanding the creativity in children and plan to attend The Creativity Gala in December. Walker also plans to auction off one of his art pieces in The Creativity Gala on Dec. 8, 2012. He has been working hard on his auction piece and is expecting good results at the auction.

“I want to get the highest bid!” Walker said. “I’m making a very special painting for The Creativity Gala.”

Walker’s parents, Bill and Debby Wilson, plan on taking Walker to The Children’s Creativity Foundation until he goes to college. They also plan on introducing Walker’s 3-year-old sister, Ella, to The Children’s Creativity Foundation in about a year or so. They have seen the impact that creativity has made in Walker’s life and they

hope that will have the same impact for Ella. Goddard started The Children’s Creativity Foundation for families exactly like the Wilsons. Most people, like the Wilsons, know that creativity is not a main focus in school systems anymore. The Children’s Creativity Foundation is trying to change that by providing the opportunity for

after-school creativity. “Research has shown that the cultivation of creativity is a key component of programs and strategies to produce positive outcomes for youth,” according to Building Partnerships for Youth Foundation.

Debby Wilson, an art and creativity advocate, understands that creativity is a key component in fully developing the brain and supports what The Children’s Creativity Foundation is trying to accomplish. “I’m beyond thankful that Walker was awarded with this scholarship,” Debby said. “To me this scholarship means that we are doing the right thing as parents by having Walker participate in The Children’s Creativity Foundation. I know that he will be successful in life because of his creativity.”

The Children’s Creativity Foundation is always accepting applications for new volunteers. Volunteers are given two free tickets to the Creativity Gala as compensation.

A typical day of volunteering would consist of, setting up painting supplies and cleaning up after each artist.

Volunteers are mainly needed on Saturdays. The last Saturday in each month is a themed family day with snacks and live music.
