    WAVERLEYCHINESECONGREGATION

    SundayOutdoorWorshipWaverley Chinese people enjoyed an outdoor worship meeting. There were 38 adults and 4

    children in attendance. People sang and praised God for His creation of the universe and the

    beautifulnaturalenvironment.MonicaSun,EmilyCai,andKSWanggavetheirtestimonygiving

    thankstoGod.Afterthemeetingconcludedtherewerecompetitions,BBQlunchwithmuchfun

    andfellowship.

    Vivian is one of their Prayer group leaders and because their congregation are moving to

    SpringvalecorpsshehasorganisedHalfanhourPrayereachdayforOneHundredDays.

    Another prayer activity will be held at Springvale Corps. Waverley Chinese people will go to

    SpringvaleCorps

    and

    surround

    the

    church

    building

    to

    have

    prayer

    for

    seven

    weeks

    (two

    weeks

    willfocusoncommunitypeopleattheSpringvalemarketplace).

    SundayCombinedPrayermeetingA combined prayer meeting by people fromWaverley Chinese congregation and Springvale

    ChinesecorpswasheldlastSundayafternoon. 29peoplejoinedthePrayeractivity. Theywill

    meeteachSundayfrom13Novemberuntil25December, specificallyforprayerforthemerging

    ofthesecongregationsandtheeffectiveconnectionwiththeirlocalcommunity.

    On27/11/2011&25/12/2011,twocongregationswillmeettogethertwiceforSundayworship

    priorto

    the

    commencement

    of

    the

    SPRINGVALE

    CORPS.

    ThefirstSundayworshipmeetingforSpringvaleCorpsison15January2012.Theinstallationof

    CaptainsJoseph&MaryLiu,ascorpsofficers,willtakeplaceatthegeneralchange.

    Theywillappreciateyourprayersupport.

    The Salvation Army is partnering with the CFA in providing funding to Toolangi CFA for the

    acquisitionofafirefighting,2.4CMediumTanker. Thiswasamongthemanyprojectswehave

    fundedin

    partnership

    with

    Government

    and

    Non

    Government

    services

    within

    fire

    affected

    Communities .

    AttheToolangiCommunityFestivalonSunday,MajorJennyBegentofficiallyhandedoverthe

    new CFA TANKER, and the community conveyed their 'thanks' to The Salvation Army for its

    generoushelp.

    OURCHRISTMASGIFTConcertSpectacularforthewholefamily

    TheSalvationArmy, inpartnershipwithTheCityofMelbourne&SalvosStores,arepresenting

    "Our Christmas Gift". A Christmas spectacular for the whole family. The Corps Program &Public Relations departments have put together an advertising strategy which will targetthousandsofpeoplebyRadio,Facebook,Internetaswellas20,000PRDonors.Weaimtohave

    5000 Salvationists and friends at the event. "Our Christmas Gift" will be a wonderful way ofpresentingthemessageofJesusChristtothousandsofpeople. The eventisbeingplacedonthe

    CityofMelbournewebsiteanditwillalsobeadvertisedintheCity'sfreenewspaperMXNews.

    TRAINING

    2012

    Chaplaincytrainingremainsahighpriorityintheterritory. Between2007and2011thisterritory

    saw80participantsattendtheresidentialtrainingprogramforchaplains. Successfulcompletion

    was recognised with the nationally accredited training qualification, Certificate IV in Christianchaplaincyandpastoralcare(91268NSW). Whilethisqualificationremainscurrent, itsdeliveryperiodhasnowexpired.

    The Salvation Army has commenced plans to replace this qualification with a new accredited

    trainingqualification. ItisplannedfordeliverytocommenceinJune2012andwillbeofferedas

    5 residential training programs, each of one week duration over a period of 18 months. The

    TheChristmasmeetingoftheWorldMissionFellowshipin2011willbeheldon

    Monday5DecemberatInalaChapel,220MiddleboroughRoad,BlackburnSouth,

    commencingat6.30pm.

    Special guest artists for the meetingare the members of 'Suavis', the Brimbank Corps

    Community Choir, conducted by Mrs Merryn Steel. At this meeting the Fellowship will also

    farewell CaptainsDaniel& MelissaTemplemanTwells shortlydue to take upappointmentsin

    theJapanTerritory. AtableofspecialChristmasgoodiesarrangedbyMajorWinifredBarker

    will augment the usual Trading Table. Proceeds from the saleswill be used to support our

    territory'soverseaspersonnelindeficitfundedterritoriesandcommands.Agoldcoinsupperin
