PSSA Boys’ Hockey State Finals Good luck to the boys’ hockey team who are today competing the PSSA State Finals in Narellan. We are very proud of the team and their achievements. Rex Smith and Lois Jones Cup Rex Smith and Lois Jones Cup is an annual interschool hockey cup. Our boys and girls teams competed in this event on Friday 6 September. The girls worked hard as a team but were unable to get a win on the day. Miss McPhee was very impressed with their effort and sportsmanship. Well done, girls. The boys had a successful day ahead of their PSSA knockout finals today in Narellan. The boys defeated Holy Family, Middleton and Parkes East to take out the Rex Smith Cup. The boys played as a team and passed the ball well. They would like to thank Makie Hornery and Oliver Hayes for stepping up and playing on the day as some players were absent. We would like to give a huge thank you to Glenn Johnstone and Dave MacGregor for their skill and support as coaches of our team this year. Girls’ PSSA Touch Football Last Thursday, our girls’ touch football played in the PSSA Round 5 match against Dubbo South Public School in Dubbo. Unfortunately our team’s winning streak ended and we were beaten 3 -1. Our try scorer was Grace MacGregor, who was unlucky to be denied several more impressive tries. After conceding a try in the second minute of the match, our team worked hard defensively to keep Dubbo South’s skilful attack contained for the rest of the first half. Congratulations to Tia, Faith, Matayah, Lucy, Shaykharn, Grace, Belle, Liliani and Emma for being dedicated sportswomen who continually represented us with pride. I’d like to acknowledge and thank the girls’ family members for transporting them to and from the game, and for giving their support from the side-lines. I appreciate your continued assistance. Tell Them From Me Survey The ‘Tell Them From Me Parent Survey’ has been released. A link will be shared on our Facebook page. We are hoping to gain a high response from the parent body on a range of matters, including the school uniform. The responses will be used as a guide in future decision making processes.

Every Day Counts I found the table below that shows the impact of missing a day of school here and there or up to three days a week. We know that many of our children are away from school for very valid reasons, such as ill health. When you view such information this way it is quite confronting and helps us to realise the long term impact of missing school.

Have a great week, Mrs O’Neill.
