After playing 5 very exciting games, the Erindale M. Bantam A Spitfires won Silver at the December 2013 International Silver Stick Tournament in Vaughan. After losing their first game to Innisfil on a last minute goal, the Spitfires bounced back defeating the Port Credit Storm and Nobleking Knights to play the Willowdale Blackhawks in the semi finals. The two teams went scoreless throughout an exciting regulation AND double over- time with the Spitfires eventually winning the game in a nail-biting shoot- out. The championship game was a very close 2-1 loss to the top-ranked Toronto Aces resulting in the silver medal for the Spitfires. CONGRATULATIONS to Minor Bantam A for a well-played tournament! After playing 5 very exciting games, the Erindale M. Bantam A Spitfires won Silver at the December 2013 International Silver Stick Tournament in Vaughan. A NOTE FROM THE REGISTAR…...

Erindale Hockey will be emailing copies of all registration invoices to our

members in early February. Please use these to claim qualifying amounts

under the Federal Children’s Fitness Tax Credit. The invoices will be sent

to the main email account on file. If you do not receive the email, you may

retrieve it by logging on and printing it off the registration site.

Erindale Novice Team #31 were champions at the Ray Hunt Classic in Orangeville this past October. It was a great day for the team; they played 3 games and went 3-0 with wins over Erindale #32, Orange-ville and then the MOHA Flyers. Congratulations to the boys for an action-packed day of hard- won hockey games. Special recognition for the game MVP’S: Justin Li, Will Lessard and Evan Cowling and also for the outstanding goaltending of Brendan Mahoney. Pictured above: Back Row: Asst. MINOR MIDGET ‘A’ WINS MYHOCKEY

PITTSBURGH TOURNAMENT

The Erindale Minor Midget A Spitfires won the under 16A Division of the Pittsburgh Thanksgiving Classic on Sunday December 1 with a hard fought 3-1victory over Bradford in the final game. Jack Skipper opened the scoring for Erindale early in this hard-hitting game with a breakaway goal after blocking a Bradford shot. Andrew Durant followed shortly after with a wrap-around goal during a 5 on 3 power play. After Bradford cut the lead in half with a goal early in the third period, Braeden McInnes finished a 2 on 1 breakaway, with Nicholas Souliere providing the brilliant pass, and the Spitfires hung on from there. Marc-Etienne Gosselin made 33 saves as the winning goaltender for Erindale. The Spitfires were undefeated in the tournament defeating Ashburn West Virginia 4-1 in the semi-final after winning 3 straight very physical round robin games. ERINDALE STANDS PROUD WITH STARTING LINEUP

AT JANUARY STEELHEADS GAME

On January 5th, four lucky Erindale players were selected to stand with the Steelheads’ Starting Lineup in their game against Sault Ste. Marie. From left to right in the photo are: Isaac Kashino who represented all Erindale “A” teams, Elijah Young who represented Erindale PW Red, “Sauga”, the Steelhead’s mascot, Tyler Leermakers who represented Erindale Novice Blue and Alexander Stewart who repre-sented Erindale Atom Green. To add to the fun later, 16 of Erindale’s IP players were invited to play in the second pe-riod Tim Horton’s Timbits Mini Game!

STEELHEADS PLAYER OF THE GAME’ AWARDS

Partnering to create a coveted “Player of the Game Award’, Kia Canada and the Mississauga Steelheads were pleased to present Erindale with the opportunity to recognize 3 deserving players within the association. Each of the following recipients was awarded 4 free tickets to a Steelheads game as well as a Kia/Steelheads Player of the Game Trophy presented on the video board while wearing their Erindale jersey. Congratulations to the following players on this great achievement:

RYAN SUK—ER M. Novice Team 23: Ryan consistently represents ER’s motto of

“Skill, Determination and Never Quit Attitude” and continues to work with his coaches to be an all-around hockey player, proficient at both offence and defence. He is a joy to coach

and continues to work hard on improving all aspects of his game. Congratulations Ryan on your well-deserved award!

JOSEPH BATH—ER M. Atom Team 42: Joseph also exemplifies Erindale’s “Skill, De-

termination and Never Quit Attitude” motto. He is recognized for working well with his team-mates, excellent hockey skills, ability to implement new plays and follow advice, great work

ethic and remarkable improvement since last season. He is a great leader and role model for his team mates, always encouraging them to raise their game. Congratulations to Joseph, a loyal Steelhead’s fan and hopefully a future Steelheads player!

OLLIS RICHARDSON—ER Peewee Team 71: Ollis is a pleasure to coach. He leads

his team in both goals and assists but is very humble and puts the goals of the entire team-first. He has an incredibly positive attitude and gives 110% at every game. Ollis always ar-

rives at every game and practice with a big smile on his face, always ensuring to keep the game fun. Congratulations Ollis on also exemplifying Erindale’s “Skill, Determination and Never Quit Atti-tude”!
