Worldview launched its website www.worldview.org.np on the second week of March. The website provides a brief historical overview of the unique and pioneering contributions it has made in the Nepalese communication scene dating from the early 1980’s to the present where it continues in its mission of utilizing communications to address the varied needs of the Nepalese people. Worldview had played a catalytic role in such fronts as the audio-visual sector, mass media, social mobilization, and grassroots communications and in the training of media personnel.

The first batch of the second year workshops were completed under the EU Funded “Educating Change Agents and the Public on Human Rights” (ECAPHR) Project. A total of 20 workshops have been conducted to date in (Banke, Bardia, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Bara, Parsa, Nawalparasi, Kapilbastu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur) 10 of the 14 targeted districts. The workshops are a continuation of the 82 workshop/special classes conducted in the previous year meant to educate a wide group of change agents on such critical issues as Human Rights, Child Rights, Women Rights and International Humanitarian Law.

This year's workshops were conducted in partnership with district level partners, in spite of the uncertain atmosphere prevailing in the country. The workshops met with an overwhelming participation level; both numerically and gender wise with a total of 1259 persons participating in the first 20 workshops (an average of 62 plus per workshop). Another encouraging feature was the significant rise in the number of female participants’ with an average of 60 % per workshop in the second year.

As in the previous year, this year's workshops were favorable received by the participants who found the course content timely and relevant. Similarly, the invited guests from various sections of society complimented Worldview Nepal for educating the public on such critical issues in times of conflict. These workshops also received regular press coverage in local and national media. The first workshop of the second year was facilitated by Pabitra Karki and Prakash Babu Regmi in Banke. Worldview Nepal Executive Director Subhadra Belbase and Arun Belbase also participated in this workshop.
