Taoist Healing Techniques that Increase Energy, Vitality and Potency

Compared to the West, the Taoist Longevity Tradition uses a totally different approach. It is a spiritual practice that uses terminologies such as “energy”, “vital essence”, “spirit” and “alchemy”. Their philosophy focuses on us being an energy source that accumulates vital essence. Because of the wasting of our pre-birth Jing and getting insufficient post-birth Jing, it causes an adverse effect on our health. This is the reason why it is vital for a person to transform more jing for him to enjoy more health benefits.

Influencing Your DNA and Telomeres

Surprisingly, the principles followed by the ancient Taoist Healing are the same ones modern science has discovered and interpreted. In fact, modern science has learned how to work with your genes so that it will give a positive influence to your body. They have also discovered that once the end or telomeres of your genes shorten, it greatly affects the ability of the body to rejuvenate itself. Because we continuously absorb toxins like chemicals and heavy metals, not only through the food that we eat, but even through the air that we breathe, it is expected that there is a poor reaction among our chemical pathways. There are certain steps to follow if you want to take hold of your DNA. At the ends of the chromosomes are stretches of DNA called telomeres, which protect our genetic data, make it possible for cells to divide, and hold some secrets to how we age and get cancer.

Telomeres have been compared with the plastic tips on shoelaces because they prevent chromosome ends from fraying and sticking to each other, which would scramble an organism's genetic information to cause cancer, other diseases or death.

Each time a cell divides, the telomeres get shorter. When they get too short, the cell no longer can divide and becomes inactive or "senescent" or dies. This process is associated with aging, cancer and a higher risk of death. So telomeres also have been compared with a bomb fuse.
