First Aid In Schools
From The Principal’s Desk The Gymnastics program started last week and I was impressed by the
instructor’s presentation and program and his efforts to ensure all
experienced success. Interestingly some groups found the sessions very
tiring and hard work – given a lot of the activities required strength and
balance, rather than endurance. The next session is scheduled for this
Thursday. Please make sure your child is appropriately dressed for this
type of activity (lace up or Velcro tight fitting shoes, shorts under
dresses etc.), as incorrect clothing may restrict participation.
Next week the 4/5/6’s will be experiencing Camp Coolamatong on the
lakes at Bairnsdale, whilst the Grade 3’s will be heading off to the Urban
Camp two weeks later, with Life Ed in the intervening week - so a busy
time ahead. Please note that all payments for camps are expected to
be made before the event, as usually we must pay the camps in advance,
but also as we have been disappointingly let down in the past when we
have given the occasional parent additional time to pay.
Given we haven’t had a Monday assembly for some time, we had many
nominations for our Student Star Of The Week award, with three
students being pulled from the hat to be our Student Stars. With the
Grade 4/5/6 Camp next week, we will again miss our Monday afternoon
assembly, with the next one now scheduled for 23rd November, and the
next after that likely to be 6th December.
As you know, Denise McNamara has announced her intention to retire,
so we are on the hunt for a new OOSH co-ordinator. If you know of
anyone who may be interested and appropriately qualified (or completing
a Diploma qualification), please encourage them to contact us for details.
On another note, congratulations to Denise for becoming a Grandmother
again overnight.
The warm weather yesterday again reminded us of what is to come as
summer takes hold. Given where Coldstream is, many of you will be
beginning to prepare your houses for the impending fire season. If so,
you may be interested, in attending the CFA open day this weekend
(15th November). No doubt additional information on preparing your
home and developing a fire safety plan will be available to support your
efforts. In turn, you could support them by showing your interest in
their activities and perhaps making a small donation.
Have a gorgeous week.

Thank You On behalf of Bec, Chris and our family, I would like to thank the school community for their
concern, thoughts and prayers following Bec’s accident; it has made a difficult time easier to
bear. Bec is looking forward to coming back to school as soon as she is able to thank you in
person. Janet
