These categories will now be available to young people globally thanks to a £25,000 donation from the HSBC Global Education Programme. globally. We are delighted that we are able to offer the International Diana Award to exceptional

young people outside the UK who are our ambassadors for the future.”

The first International Diana Award was given to 18 year old Eshwaramma from India, a

quadriplegic campaigner. She was nominated by anti-poverty charity ActionAid for her tireless

campaigning to change how disabled young people are viewed by Indian society, undeterred by the

fact she can only write with her mouth. As a result of her fantastic work in both her local area and

with the Indian government she has begun to dramatically alter perceptions, raise awareness and

increase acceptance of children with disabilities in India.
