PACK EXPO, CHICAGO NOVEMBER 2008

Roger E. Gardner, 64, died Friday morning, December 12, 2008, at Hanover Hospital. He was the husband of Patricia V. (Reed)

Gardner, to whom he was married 46 years. Born February 24, 1944, in Gettysburg. Mr. Gardner was a machinist at Weldon Solutions in York for 33 years until he started his own business, Gardner Associate Enterprises. Mr. Gardner had done work for various places in the area including the York Industrial Museum. He was always available to help people when they needed a hand. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Roger E. Gardner, Jr. of Germany, Eva M. Gardner of Fredericksburg, Va., Annette S. Wilt of York Springs, and Richard D. Gardner of Gettysburg; 10 grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, Terry Gardner of Gettysburg, and Steve Gardner of Biglerville; and many nieces and nephews. He will truly be

Weldon had their Holiday Party on December 6, 2008 at the Holiday Inn. Even the abrupt snow/ice didn’t keep many away. The food was delicious, prizes were first-class and the picture show was impressive. Thanks to the activities committee for arranging this festive event. (Paul Garner, Bernie Schott and Jen Yoder)

PackExpo was held at McCormick Place in Chicago on November 9-13, 2008. This is the largest packaging show of the year featuring a wide range of exhibitors displaying new packaging materials, equipment and services.

Charlie Gales met with numerous suppliers and customers in Chicago, including the FANUC Robotics team from the Northeast region. They had an opportunity to discuss new technology, current projects and future prospects.
