FEBRUARY
2019 Greetings, Thank you for attending the 1 Year Party!! You have made the past year so special and incredible. We want to thank each of you for making our community such a great place to be. To kick off February, Paint, Paper, Scissors will be back on Monday, February 4th. Details are provided in the center if this newsletter. This event will take place in the art room on the third floor and is free. Please sign up at the front desk. We will continue with the grocery loop and medical ap-pointments on Friday. Later this month, we will send out surveys to ensure the loops are working and if not, take suggestions. For medical appointments, please contact the front desk 48 hours prior to your appointment. If you have any questions, please contact the activities team or the front desk. For the Friday trips and all the other out-ings, please sign up at the front desk. The Super Bowl is on Sunday, February 3rd, and our chefs will put together some snacks upstairs in the community room for those who would like to watch it together. Happy Hour will continue at 3p pm Wednesday and our Friends and Family Happy Hour will take place on Febru-ary 13th. We will have live music with Patrick Allen, who performs the Great American Song Book. We hope you can make it! We will also be hosting a Winter Carnival & Beer Dabbler on Wednesday, February 20th at 2p. This month, we will be hosting a nice dinner for all resi-dents on Valentines Day with live music. We will send menu details soon. Please join us!

Live Stream Worship Service
Sundays | 9:45 am | 2nd Floor Chapel
On Sundays at 9:45am we live stream the Sunday service of St. Philip the Deacon (ELCA) Lutheran Church. This is held in the Chapel/Theater room on the second floor. We set up the service and get to follow along with the service (held at St. Philip’s) here at Cherrywood Pointe. The pastor isn’t here but it’s a way for us to gather and worship together on Sunday morning. A special thanks to Janet for sending us the worship ser-

Fitness Class Offerings & Updates
In February, we will continue with the Ridgedale YMCA partnership and take a trip
to the YMCA to utilize their pool. We will be taking that trip on Tuesday, February
12th at 10a. Please sign up at the front desk.
Weekly Fitness Classes -
At Cherrywood Pointe of Plymouth, we have certified instructor led classes Mon-
day - Saturday at 10a. The classes are free and for all residents. If you aren’t sure
where to start with any of our classes of gym equipment, please contact Erin or
Connie. We are happy to help and would love to have you in class!

Susie is a Certified 200 hour Yoga Instructor
Silver Sneakers Classic- Class Taught by Ridgedale YMCA
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to in-crease muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. This class is typically 45 minutes in length.
Tai Chi - Class Taught by Ridgedale YMCA
Tai Chi is an ancient form of Chinese exercise consisting of slow, beautiful, re-laxed movements that develop a sense of balance and harmony between mind and body. Exercise for your body. A study in concentration for your mind. Tai Chi practice will give you the opportunity to use all the information and movements learned in the instruction class in a moving meditation. This class is typically 30-45 minutes in length.
Fitness Class Descriptions:
Functional Fitness This is a seated or standing 45 minute class that focuses on movements that you do on a daily basis. We will work on strength, balance and endurance. Music & Movement In this seated, 30-minute exercise class, we use lightly weighted drumsticks to move to the beat of the music. This class is for all levels and all exercises are done seated.
Balance & Mobility
This is a 45-minute class that focuses on strength and balance. A portion of the class is done seated and the remainder is standing. This class includes exercises that maintain or improve both static balance and dynamic balance. Seated Exercise: This is a 30-minute class designed to maintain or improve balance, lower & up-per body strength and mobility. This class can all be done seated. Chair Yoga
This is a 30-minute seated stretching class that is practiced sitting in a chair or using the chair for support. This class incorporates different exercises (yoga poses) that focus on flexibility, stability and mobility.
SAIL: Stay Active & Independent for Life Fitness Class: This is a class designed to maintain or improve balance, lower & upper body strength and mobility. This fitness class is designed for individuals 65 years or older and is for every BODY. This class is typically 60 minutes in length.

Wayzata Club YES at Cherrywood Pointe
Club YES (Youth Extending Service) is a youth service program for students
attending Wayzata High School. It offers students a wide range of exciting
opportunities for volunteer service: Interfaith Outreach, Carnivals and Fami-
ly Fun Nights, MATTER, City of Plymouth, Trillium Woods, Adopt A High-
way and much more. Club YES is over 800 students strong!
