Dear colleagues,

This is the second announcement for ‘the 3rd Asia-Pacific Solar Physics Meeting (APSPM)’ to be held on November 3-6 in Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea.

The registration fee is USD 400. This fee includes all conference expenses, i.e., registration, meals, banquet and excursion, except accommodation. The financial support can be provided to limited number of young scientists with approvals of LOC. Please refer to the following guide in the next section how to apply for the financial support.

Invitation Letter for the Visa Application Conference organization will issue the invitation letter to apply for Visa. You can request for the invitation letter by checking ‘I need a Korean VISA.’ when you register. You will be required to provide the personal information for the invitation letter to be generated, such as your nationality and work address. Visit on the conference website and check the ‘General Information’ for more details on the Visa application.

Cancellation of RegistrationParticipants who already registered and want to cancel, please contact ([email protected]). About 4 percent will be deducted for the finance fee.

Abstract submission starts on August 20, and its deadline is on September 10. Please finish the registration before submitting your abstract. To submit abstract, visit on our conference website. All speakers are strong-ly recommended to use the template file provided by the organization. The file can be downloaded from the website. Abstract body should be in text only and may not exceed 250 words.

The presentation type (oral or poster) will be decided at the time of session scheduling. Please note that au-thor’s preferred presentation type is usually honored though not guaranteed to be satisfied due to the limited number of contribution talks.

The submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the SOC and the decisions on the presentation type (oral or poster) will be notified as soon as possible.

ReceptionReception will be held at the Hoam Faculty House (conference hotel) from 18:00 on November 2. Light re-freshments including beverage will be served.

SOC/AC MeetingSOC/AC Meeting will be held twice during the conference, the first at 19:30 on November 2 at Hoam Faculty House and the second at 12:30 on November 6 at Bldg. 75-1.

Abstract Submission

Conference Activities

The conference organization will provide the financial support to young scientists who need financial assis-tance for the conference registration. Students and researchers with Doctoral degrees less than 5 years are eligible for the support. Please request via email ([email protected]) under the subject of “Financial support” with your full name and a brief reasons of application. The application deadline is on August 27. The LOC will review the application and notify the decision within a week.

Young Scientist MeetingYoung Scientist Meeting will be at one of the campus cafeteria (Bldg. 38) from 18:00 on November 3. All students and researchers at early in their careers are welcome to the meeting.

Banquet & MealsConference banquet will be served on November 4 without additional fee. Participants with a dietary con-straint (vegetarians) are recommended to notify their preferences through the online registration.

ExcursionYou may choose between two options of excursion that are Seoul City Tour and Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) Tour, without additional fee. The excursion date is on November 5, and the brief information on each tour can be found below. For the detailed information, please visit on our website. Please note that your pre-ferred tour type is honored though not guaranteed to be satisfied due to the limit on the number of persons. You may also choose not to have any tours.

● Seoul City Tour : from 13:00 to 21:30● Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) Tour : from 12:00 to 18:00

Best Presentation Awards for Young Scientists Committee will review oral/poster presentations given by young scientists (students & Ph.D degree less than 5 years) to select three winners for prizes. The awards will be at the end of the conference.

Conference Hotel (Hoam Faculty House)Limited number of conference hotel blocks are set aside by the organization for the participants. This hotel is the only one inside the Seoul National University (SNU) campus that is in a walking distance (~30 mins) from the conference site. You may reserve the conference hotel from the registration page by September 10 with your preferred room types at different rates. The hotel bill can be paid with either cash or credit card at hotel when you check-out.

● From Incheon AirportThe easiest way to reach the conference hotel from Incheon Airport is to take the ‘airport limousine bus’ #6017 at the GATE 6B or 13B, and get off at the last stop, ‘Hoam Faculty House’. The bus 6017 comes directly from Incheon Airport to ‘Hoam Faculty House’ within 70 mins, and the bus fare is 15,000 won by cash. Please refer to the airport website and the Hotel website for more informa-tions.

● From Gimpo AirportTake the airport limousine bus #6003 at the Bus terminal #6. The bus fare is 4,000 won by cash. Get off at the main gate of Seoul National University, and take a taxi or a shuttle bus from the main gate of SNU.

Conference Venue (Seoul National University)The conference will be held at the College of Natural Science (Bldg. 25-1) inside the Gwanak campus of SNU.

● From Incheon Airport Take the ‘Limousine bus’ number 6003. The bus 6003 comes to SNU main gate via Gimpo Airport within 110 minutes under normal traffic conditions. After getting off in front of the main gate, you may walk (~15 mins) or take a regular bus (#5513: 1,300 won) that circulates the campus, or take the on-campus shuttle for free. When you take either a regular bus or the on-campus shuttle, get off at the ‘Administration Building’ stop. Please refer to the SNU web-site and the campus map for the venue.
