Once again, we must remember the blessings of being able to camp and enjoy the nature around us. What awesome weather we had on the weekend of 19-21 April, Easter Week end.

Most of us arrived on the Thursday and the rest early Friday morning, in time to take part in the Braaier of the year competition. Registration was on Thursday evening. With a tot of Sherry to welcome everyone, jaffels for sale and the good company made for the perfect evening.

What an awesome day, the company on offer was enjoyed by all (I am sure those in the know, were keeping their recipes close to their chests and there was no way of wrestling it out of them.) The Ladies kept busy by knitting and crocheting and some of the men played grass darts and the children enjoyed the swimming. Late afternoon the fires were lit, and the braais were started. One thing is for sure, I am glad I was not one of the judges. They would have all won!

Saturday morning the walkers were up early to go for their walk.

Those who did not walk started their breakfasts. The day was spent playing games, swimming and the ladies enjoyed the crocheting and knitting. Early afternoon the pots were put on the fires for the Potjie Competition, here you had no chance of knowing what was going into the pot! Some would not even let in a peep for a photo. The aroma around the camp was enough to make a person very hungry. Once again it must have been a very difficult task for the judges.

Sometime during the weekend we had two Easter Bunnies visiting in the early morning hours and leaving Easter eggs behind. Thank you, Penny, and Marthonet. Sunday morning, we had an Easter Bonnet parade and there after Chairman’s tea. After Chairman’s tea coffee and cupcakes were enjoyed.

On Sunday afternoon, Paul broke the news, ever so suttle, that he needed to build a rocket for Goefy Games. The planning and action that went into this rocket was serious hard work.

Rally bookings:

It must be made quite clear to all members that have put their names on the rally list for any rally weekend, if your booking / Park fees have been paid over by the club in advance, as it is sometimes necessary, and you do not come and camp, you will be invoiced.
