THE START-PAST Zealcon Engineering began its modest yet a professionally rigorous start on January 1 , 2010, A historic day when all the pioneers left their ‘well settled carriers’ to start their business.Ever since then they never looked back. Adhering to good engineering practices & strong business acumen Zealcon has embraced success after success.It all started from a ‘porta cabin office ’by the road side with three-four distinguished professionals, who never knew how success would treat them & their endeavors from the very beginning. Peeping in the past, it was a proposal of Gabir Dam which got prepared in 3 days & 3 nights. The field these engineers selected was Heavy Construction. In those days they used to bring drinking water & lunch from their homes.

THE PRESENT-TODAY Initially, this team with the Visionary Leadership is an obvious choice of the major clients of Pakistan. Off course, not forgetting the foreign companies who formed Joint Ventures with Zealcon as well. “The Passion to Perform” has catapulted Zealcon above other competitors. The first major breakthrough for Zealcon Engineering Ltd was a stack of 78 meters & the end client was Byco Refinery. Now, Zealcon is handling about a dozen projects across Pakistan e.g Nashpa Gas Field, DG Khan Cement, UCH II Gas Development Project, Thar Coal Project, Construction of a Multiplex Cenima in Lahore, Gherabwal Cement, Rohri Cement, Chillas Basha Dam Colony & Danish Schools.And then Zealcon has grown it’s assets by adding cranes , dump trucks, excavators , DG sets , E &I test equipment / lab etc the induction of quality HR has also been Zealcon’s hallmark.Finally, today we are a BILAL – ZEALCON company, a merger between the giant BILAL UAE & Zealcon has lofted Zealcon in Pakistan, UAE & Africa.

THE FUTURE-TOMORROW Zealcon will be an EPC organization with a global presence.A Fabrication Shop, major activities in the Plant Services sector & Manufacturing are targets to be achieved / acquired. A total managerial staff of around 261 with impressive construction equipment Zealcon is geared to take its National and International share of business. The merger with BILAL Construction has further strengthened Zealcon & we are extremely focused & available in the African market. A graduate in Electrical Engineering from UET Lahore in 1992.

Started my carrier in Telecommunication sector after graduation but after a year came in the ‘Oil & Gas’ Sector by joining Petrosin Pakistan in the design department. Later worked in Descon Engineering and ICI Pakistan. Finally joined BP which became UEP till to date.

Presently working as the Engineering Services Manager.UEP is involved in the exploration & production of Oil & Gas in Lower Sindh. UEP holds the license of Mirpur Khas, Khipro & Badin concessions.

We first introduced Zealcon in UEP during the execution of Phase 1 of Naimat Phase 5 gas processing facility. Later because of their good delivery, we awarded Phase 2 to them and then we awarded Bukhari Amine Plant job to Zealcon.

Zealcon has a potential to grow into one of the leading construction companies of Pakistan. To me, the factors in their steady progress are their management’s attitude of understanding & supporting client’s interest and their inclination towards hiring & retaining good quality professionals

Message InterviewCould You Please Share Something with Our Readers about Your Personal Life, including education and family etc?I Graduated (Mechanical Engineering) in 1980 from Peshawar Engineering University. I worked in Pakistan Refinery Ltd, Engro Chemicals and the joined Descon Engineering at their Abu Dhabi Office. I worked in Descon from 1993 till 2008. I joined Bilal Group in 2009 and am still with them located in Zealcon Engineering Lahore.My father was a doctor and worked in state bank of Pakistan. I got married in 1985 and have three loving daughters.

What achievements you have on your credit over the last 35 years on the heavy construction industry?I have worked very hard have received recognition from PRL, ENGRO, DESCON etc in Pakistan and have been recognized by ADNDC , BECHTEL,FW,TECHNIP,JGC and Snamprogetti etc from abroad/ UAE. My recognition by the above organizations was due to successful and on time shut down/turnarounds and construction projects.

You have an extensive work experience in plant services/shutdowns. How it can be beneficial to Zealcon engineering?Zealcon itself as of today is a well respected construction company of Pakistan. With my humble experience Zealcon has started exploring opportunities for annual turnarounds, shutdowns retrofits in Pakistani industry. I am more than sure that Zealcon will have immense success in very near future.

You have been a part of Bilal Transport, which has become a business partner of Zealcon engineering now, how the two companies can benefit from a person like you who has got opportunity of serving both sides?Basically it is a “supply and demand” process; I have taken years to identify “supply” where as Zealcon knows where the “demand” is.Hence, it is a natural “click” to success. Otherwise organization takes years to undertake and complete this process.

You have already established a fabrication shop in Abu Dhabi. How was your experience on this front?Not one but I established two fabrication shops in Abu Dhabi, both are operational and profitable today. With this experience I am certain that Zealcon, besides plant services will establish manufacturing to be a vibrant business division.

What specific role you are going to play in Zealcon engineering?My job is to establish fabrication workshop and Plant Services

Tell us about the concept of Plant Services. How your expertise can be helpful in this field of heavy construction industry?The plant services come after a plant is constructed and commissioned. All such industries need to be inspected for reliability to operate under the defined parameters. A slight negligence can lead to a major catastrophic failure; therefore, it is absolutely important that all such plants should be shut down for a specific/defined period for necessary inspection and maintenance. We can identify to our clients that what exact precautions they should take during the planned shutdowns. Working as a team, we can ensure where and which equipment, piping and valves are not in god condition and can give problem during operation. Secondly, we can immediately source any missing spare part through our BGT office (Auh /Dubai) within 24hours to avoid delay in shutdown. This is a competitive edge of Zealcon comparing with other local competitors.

What is your message for the readers of zealcon newsletter?Work as a one team with boundary-less approach, be supportive, honest and keep company interest ahead of anything.

Project Brief:This Project’s working started in 2014, in 2016 this project was awarded to Zealcone Engineering by a Chinese EPC contractor M/s HBP with this prestigious project of Government of Pakistan. HBP engaged Zealcon Engineering Private Limited for this project. All the civil & electro-mechanical works are in Zealcon’s scope.

Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) intends to undertake Installation of LPG Recovery Plant, Compressors and Allied Facilities at Nashpa Field (the PROJECT). NASHPA and MELA gas fields are located in Khyber Pakhtun Kha Province of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The objective of the PROJECT is to construct a gas processing facility at NASHPA to process raw gas

New Projects New ProjectsAward of NASHPA Gas Processing & LPG Recovery Plant Project

of NASHPA and separator gas from MELA Field. MP separator and stabilizer gas at MELA will be compressed through Off gas compres-sor, and this gas will be combined with existing HP MELA separator gas for transportation from MELA through a trunk line to NASHPA. The MELA and NASHPA combined gas is the feed for Mol sieve and LPG plant. The NASHPA plant will produceLPG, Sales Gas and Stabilized Condensate.

The PROJECT covers Wellhead facilities, Gas Gathering System (excluding flowlines) and Gas Processing Plant (including LPG Recovery Plant). The gas processing plant is intended to normally process 98 MMSCFD with a design margin of 10 %.

The anticipated production capacity of the facility is as under:

i) 90 MMSCFD (sales gas & fuel gas)ii) 16800 Barrel/day of Condensateiii) 1120 Barrel/day of NGLiv) 373 Tonne/day of LPGv) 1 Ton/day of Propane

From NASHPA wells oil production is 16800 Barrel/day whereas 150 Barrel/day will be added from MELA trunk line in winter operation.

Project Brief:Since its existence Zealcon has demonstrated a very professional approach and has competed all awarded projects to the entire satisfaction of its clients keeping in view the international quality and safety standards.

Award of the 9,000 TPD DG Cement plant is another feather in Zealcon’s cap.

DG Cement is setting up a new state of the art cement plant having a clinker production of 8000 TPD and cement production of 10,000 TPD. The project is located at a distance of 45 Km from Karachi on the border of Balochistan province.

Scope of Work:A joint venture between the Goverment of Sindh & China Machinery Engineering Co-operation with the primary objec-tive of making effective use of the ample coal reserves in the Thar Desert to meet Pakistan’s power genteration needs, spur economic development, and bring energy securty to the country. A project is underway to set up 1200 MW Coal Power plant by SECMC. Our orignal Scope of work was 3Million BCM of Over burden removal which was later increased by another 01 million. 95% of the works have been completed and remain-ing will be completed by end of December, 2016.

Project Brief: Zealcon is underway for the completion of Gharibwal cement project. The winning of this project is a proof of Zealcon’s experience and expertise in cement industry.Complete Civil works for 1200TPH Lime stone crusher and Complete Civil works for 1200TPH , 3.5km downhill belt conveyor Dismantling, Logistics and reinstallation of 1200TPH Crusher from old location to new location.Complete fabrication, erection and commissioning of 1200TPH Downhill Conveyor Belt.Based on the performance of Zealcon in above said scope, Zealcon was further awarded the project of Cement Packing Plant comprising of 4 Nos Truck loading Machines and conveyor mechanisim, bucket elevator and Roto Packer equipment along with accessories for cement packing. Zealcon’s entire team is enthusiastically on the road to successful completion of project.Civil Works of New Crusher Building is completed, Fabrication & Erection of packing plant Completed Dismentling & Transportation of 1200TPH Lime stone crusher completed Fabrication of Belt Conveyor is near to complete.

Project Brief: Based on the performance of Zealcon in Gharibwal Cement crusher and Belt Conveyor Projects, Zealcon was further awarded the Project of Construction of 20MW Waste Heat Recovery Power Plant. The winning of this project is a Proof of Zealcon’s experience and expertise in construction of Power Plants at as initiated and demonstrated at Kohat Cement and Nishat Chunian Ltd.The scope at Gharibwal comprises of:Construction of civil, mechanical and electrical & instrumentation works for the 20 MW WHR Power Plant to be constructed at gharibwal cement limited plant site. Civil Works has been started from 20th November, 2015.

Cillent: WAPDAStatus: In Progress

Brief:Zealcon was awarded the project for Construction of Famliy Residential Houses in Project Colony in Thor Vallley, Chilas by Water and Power Development Authority,Pakistan. These residential Houses are the part of Diamer Bhasha Dam project. The scope includes 30 blocks and 44 bulidings for the residence of WAPDA employees.The project is under progress now with completion of 90% and rest is scheduled to be completed by August 2016.

Porject Brief:A mega project for the construction of Rohri cement plant having capacity 5000TPD. As of now, more than 8,000 tons of fabrication and erection works has been completed .A worth mentioning preheater of 110m height has almost been completed by Zelcon with full safety as a major milestone for the completion of cement plant. The major Erection works completed by Zelcon successfully are 2 No’s of vertical Raw Mills Each having capacity 320 TPH1 No. of vertical Coal Mill having capacity 45 TPH1 No. of Rotary Kiln having capacity 5000TPD1 No. of Grate Cooler having capacity 5000TPD2 No’s of Cement Mills (Ball Mills) Each having capacity 2500TPDAll the vendor items shipment arrived at site in October-2015. Now Zelcon is moving fast toward the completion of the project after the arrival of vendor items. Erection challenging works completed by Zelcon Rohri team with their full efforts. It will be major milestone for Zelcon in the Cement Industry after the Completion.

Project Brief:Zealcon is underway for the completion of Art Vision (Cinema and food court) project. The winning of this project is a proof of Zealcon’s experience and expertise. The project of Grey structure building for a 4 floor Art Vision cinema is on the move on 1st floor. This project is a new endeaver for Zealcon which would lead to new horizon and establish zealcon as a power player in infra-structure sector as well. our scope contsists of 8 cinema halls, Food Courts and Parking Lots in first phase. The Project is plannd to be completed by Feb 2017.

Zealcon is heading fast in completion of UCH-II Project, a milestone project in the journey to success of Zealcon. Our team has already achieved a major milestone for the commissioning of Amine Train II, & now our team is on pace to complete our next milestones Amin Train I,Hot Oil Waste heat recovery system and Gas Turbine System of the plant which are planned to end by 30th September 2016.The Total achieved safe man-hour till now is 46384247.

It is active in over 30 countries with a dynamic international workforce of 26,000 people and a track record of more than 100 years in the industry.MOL Pakistan has 7 discoveries to its credit in operated blocks namely Manzalai, Makori, Mamikhel, Maramzai, Tolanj, Makori East and 2 discoveries in non-operated blocks namely Halini & Ghauri.

Zealcon’s experience list has expanded to Oil Wells by the award of Well head surface facilities project with MOL Pakistan. The project comprises of complete construction and commissioning of civil, mechanical and E&I work for Makori-4 East, Maramzai-3, Makori-5 East, Mardankhel-1 and one Future Well located in Kohat district of KPK.

Alhamdulilah , Zealcon has successfully completed Makori East-4, Maramzai-3, and Mardankhel-1 wellhead surface facilities while the work is in progress at Makori East-5 Well.
