A love for books

To instill a love for reading Book Fair was organised from 20 to 25 of August .

Director Thirumathi. Saraswathi, inaugurated the fair, There was huge response , and

children were involved with the character Geronima Stilton. Amusing Reading

activities were conducted in the campus. The whole week was complete book Gala

with lots of fun.

The art of teaching health and happiness - Yoga Day 21 Junest

Our School observed

International Day on 21st of

June 2016. Yoga being the part

of our school curriculum from

classes I to IX where students

are well trained under the

guidance of eminent Yoga

experts. We strongly believe

that Yoga provides a holistic

approach to health and

wellbeing of the young as well

as old.On the occasion of

International Day of Yoga we

had a week long programme on

the importance of Yoga and

wellness. Students performed

the different forms of Asanas

and the whole school did

p r a n a y a m a a n d b a s i c ,

breathing and stretching

exercises, which boost the

p o w e r t o f o c u s m i n d

concentration, relaxation

&physical fitness. Yoga for

sure would lead the children to

live their lives to their full

potential. “Yoga is not just

repetition of few postures it is

more about the exploration and

discovery of the subtle

energies of life.”

“Education is the mostpowerful weapon whichyou can use to changethe world.”

Puppets are one of the greatest entertainment tools for young

kids and also a very powerful way to educate them.

Scientifically, it is proven that such events increase the kid’s

imagination and print a long lasting effect in their mind and

encourage them to play such roles in their real life. On June

17th 2016, Puppet Show was organized at our school by

preprimary block for our Kindergarten kids. Teachers narrated

a story of .“Rabbit and his friends” through puppet show.

Current currents

It was an ideal opportunity to instill personal and social responsibility in our students towards

safeguarding trees and forest.

The focus of these celebrations is towards forming a personal connection between the students

and trees through a process of experience reflection and creation. The response and enthusiasm

from children and parents were highly motivating. Van Mahostsav Day was celebrated on

29th July 16, with great aplomb and enthusiasm. Program was a grand success and appreciated

by everyone. Children were asked to bring saplings. Our respected Director Shrimathi. D.

Saraswathi madam and Principal Mr. P. Madhu, graced the occasion with their hallowed

presence. They planted saplings and watered it.

National Scrabble Championship

Scrabble is a great way to improve your language, enhance your spelling. It helps

to boost your math capabilities and also encourages logical thinking. The Madras

Scrabble Foundation in association with Sudharsanam Vidyaashram hosted the

National scrabble championship 2016 in our campus on Sunday 11/09/2016

More than 30 schools and 450 students participated in the event held at the S.A.

Engineering College campus. Many students from different schools and our proud

sv ‘ians too bagged their prize.

SV’s Gala 3rd Sports Meet

Sudharshanam Vidyaashram’s Sports day held on 4.2.17 was a memorable one. The sports day kindled the fire of

house spirit so everyone was aware of the fact that it was a D-Day for the SVians. The heats started well in advance

to complete the various group and individual events. The day started with the lighting of the symbolic torch where

the captains took hold of, as carefully as, they could and ran with great pride. Then the students marched putting

their best foot forward .The events started with the 50mts dash to 400 mts relay which was amazing. The hoop

formation of waves mesmerized the audience. To cap up the events, came the yoga display each student displayed

various forms of yoga. The audiences were speechless indeed it was a great treat to their eyes. Then came the Karate.

With the bare hands students smashed the bricks into a thousand fragments. The audiences were wonderstruck. Our

chief guest Dr. Ashok Sigamani who was the secretary of Tamil Nadu cricket & Vizhupuram district association

was spellbound seeing the Karate display. He motivated the students on the importance of fitness and sports.

Thiru.D. Sabrinath our Correspondent and our Director mam Thirumathi. D. Saraswathi were present to encourage

the young Olympians.
