Altogether 30 volunteers covered over 560 worked hours, an average of 19 hours each, during the fair. Raising a total of $6,753.02 for the booster club. That is an average of $192.94 per worker. If the event continues to increase as it has, we will need to have better participation from parents next year! We all owe a big “THANK YOU!” to all those who vol- unteered this year. BOARD CONSIDERS EQUIPMENT TRAILER The “BIG RED BAND” is in need of a covered trailer to carry the band instruments and other assorted items to and from events. The board of directors approved a pro- posal to begin looking at the costs of such an item. We would appreciate any input anyone might have in this. If you know anything about trailers or what they cost, please call Don Determan at 637-8709. We would like to get informa- tion together so it can be pre- sented at the November regu- lar meeting. If we are going to try and attend, we must send a (non-refundable) deposit of $1,000 to the or- ganizers November 1, 2010. Mr. Odom needs to have parental input before the trip can be authorized. Please plan to at- tend the meeting at Debremond Stadium Thursday night October 28 6pm. We will make the final decision at that time.

EASTERN NEW MEXICO STATE FAIR FUND RAISER REPORT

The results are in and our ticket sales fund raiser was a great success. Altogether 30 volunteers covered over 560 worked hours, an average of 19 hours each, during the fair. Raising a total of $6,753.02 for the booster club. That is an average of $192.94 per worker. RHS BAND BOOSTER CLUB

Meeting Minutes October 14, 2010 Opening:

The regular meeting of the RHS Booster Band was called to order at 5.30pm on October 14, 2010 in RHS band room by Don Determan President.

Present: Don Determan Lori Romero Greg Odom Bob Gutman Carla Overmier Bruce Bailey Maria Gutman Maureen Nelson Isabel Thurman

Old Business: Money spent for U-Haul and food and snacks at Denver City and Artesia. Lori Romero motioned to approve, second Bob Gut-man: Motion carried

Treasure Report: All bills paid, current Balance $5017.81 still waiting on ENSF money should be around $6500.00.

New Business:

Pioneer Bank: Having trouble with pioneer band on updating account signature cards, motion to move account by Bob Gut-man, second by Carla Overmier. Approved to Bob Gutman and Don Determan appointed to close out the Pioneer ac-count and open new account at First American with all officers to be on the signature card Bob Gutman and Don Deter-man approved to sign documents at pioneer including checking.

Alamo Bowl Christmas trip: Greg Odom brought an invitation for the band to participate in the Alamo Bowl Festival on 12/26/11. If we are going, we need to send $1000.00 deposit by 11/1/10. Approval tabled until parents can be polled for input.

Uniform emergency: We are in need of uniform for some of our band members. Greg will check the price for ordering one, or more ASAP. Greg and Don will begin the task of getting funding for new uniforms and lockers from RHSD.

Equipment trailer: It was discussed that renting a trailer gets expensive. Board to look into the cost to purchase a covered trailer for band equipment.

Importance of getting freshman parents involved: The importance of getting freshman parents involved in the booster club was discussed. The board to work with Mr. Odom to develop information to give to new parents about the costs in-volved in band participation, and how involvement with the booster club can help them pay those costs. We need a vol-unteer to take over that project.

Schedule: Updates to the band schedule were given by Mr. Odom and will be put into the news letter.

Adjournment: Meeting was adjourned at 6.59pm by Don Determan. The next general meeting will be at 5:30pm on November 11, 2010 in RHS band room.

BELOW ARE THE MINUTES FROM THE OCTOBER 14, 2010 REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOOSTER CLUB. THE BOOSTER CLUB MEMBERS ARE ALWAYS WORKING HARD TO INSURE THAT ALL EVENTS ARE HANDLED PROPERLY AND THE FUTURE OF THE BAND IS INSURED. ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN THE BIG RED BAND CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE BOOSTER CLUB. WE WELCOME AND ENCOURAGE ALL TO JOIN IN THE FUN. THE REGULAR MEETINGS ARE HELD THE SECOND THURSDAY OF EVERY MONTH AT 5:30PM IN THE RHS BAND ROOM. SEE YOU THERE!
