I saw the miracles of Jesus; I heard his teaching. But am I willing to give him what little I have. Will it really make any difference?” You decide to trust Jesus, and give Andrew your small pouch. Andrew then tells Jesus, “9Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?” WOW! Talk about a feeling of inadequacy. Out of the thousands of people that showed up to hear and see Jesus, the only food they could find was one small lunch. I wonder what was going on in this little boy’s mind. Making a Difference by Eddie Baugher, Executive Director

Have you ever thought you had too little to give to God in order to make a difference? The Gospel of John tells of a young boy who knew that very feeling. He had been part of a great crowd of people that had witnessed and been amazed by Jesus’ healing power and followed him as he crossed the Sea of Galilee. Life on the NHRA Road by Craig Garland, NHRA National Event Series Director

Being on the road as the NHRA National Event Series Director, I have seen a great number of miles and milestones. This year marked the 50th anniversary of the NHRA Gatornationals. What a blessed event for all that attended. The “Gator Man”, made a special appearance again at our RFC kids sessions on Saturday allowing kids to touch and even hold a live alligator. All in all, it was a very blessed weekend of ministry and racing.

As we moved on to the Four-Wide Nationals in Las Vegas, our next stop, we took a detour in St Louis to visit my brother. Steps of FaithBy Jill Goodale, Wife of North Central Region Director Hugh Goodale

This was a new chapter in our lives, a precise moment when God was leading us to take steps of faith and we

responded. In February of 2018, my husband, Hugh, shared with our pastors that he was feeling the call to full-time ministry. At that point, I wasn't ready for full-time ministry. I was happy with our life and our ministry. I knew if it was God's plan that He would work everything out. Then, in April, I spoke to someone at the home office about Hugh’s desire. She said, “You never know what God has in store for you.” A month later, we got an email from the home office saying that the North Central Region Director was stepping back and they were looking for a new director to start in January of 2019. We had already discussed and prayed about where God may be leading us and we knew it would be within the racing ministry.

We immediately started praying about this opportunity. The very next Sunday our pastor had decided to change his sermon to Jeremiah 29:11. Hugh and I looked at each other, already knowing that verse, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Later that day, we were listening to the radio and the verse of the day was the same Scripture - Jeremiah 29:11. We definitely knew that God had a plan for us! If it was to be the

director's position, God would open those doors and show us. Over the summer months, as we ministered at Summit Motorsports Park, there were people that came into our lives and confirmed what God was telling us.

Through songs on the radio and people that God put in our path, it was evident that God was and is in control. He had a plan and was going to lead us every step

of the way. It was confirmed over and over again. In September, we went to Madison, IL to the divisional race at Gateway and met with Eddie Baugher, the Team RFC® Executive Director. We interviewed for the position and met a lot of new people involved with racing. During the time between February and May, I said I wasn’t ready to go back into full-time ministry. I didn’t realize the work God had done in me until months later, when I felt the excitement and a desire to serve full-time. Why? Because God is faithful and He had changed my heart. Praise God! Reflecting back on this, I realized how selfish I had been, not wanting to share my husband, and God convicted me. He revealed to me that doing full-time ministry was

going to give us more time together as a couple.

God's hand moved in our lives and guided us. We accepted the position of North Central Region Director in the fall of 2018. We went to Arizona in November for some training at the home office and officially started in this position January 1, 2019. God is in control and He has a plan for our lives. God does amazing things - He changed my heart and works in our lives to show us that through Him we can do anything. So, as we continue to lean on him for guidance, direction, strength and wisdom, He is going to lead us every step of the way. I praise His holy name!

One and a half billion daily users, and I’m one of them. I'm a Facebook user. Lately, I’ve been slightly discouraged with what has appeared in my newsfeed. You see, in between the family pictures and life announcements from my friends and family (the things

that drew me to social media in the first place), I also see links to articles, videos and infographics that may or may not be accurate, as well as stories that breed anger and fear toward those who act, think, vote, or believe differently. There's something about social media that seems to make people forget that when they speak unlovingly about a neighbor, the clerk at the store, the driver who cut them off, or those who differ politically or religiously, that they are still speaking about a human being, created by the living God, in His image. I have recently found myself asking, “Can anything good come from using social media?” I keep thinking about the number listed above; 1,500,000,000 people every day. That is just on Facebook. These are people who may or may not know Jesus; people who need hope and peace and purpose and love. My answer to this question is,

“Absolutely, good can come from social media, if the right content is posted (or tweeted).”

The vision of Team RFC® is, “To see the world of motorsports impacted for Jesus Christ by individuals entering into a personal relationship with Him and growing in those relationships.” There’s no reason this impact cannot continue on social media! We post and tweet daily Bible verses, interactive questions, quotes, prayer requests and information about who we are and what we do as an organization, all with the goal of encouraging you to love and follow Jesus. So, if you too are looking to combat the negativity in your feed and for content to share hope, peace, purpose and love with your friends and followers, be sure to follow us on Facebook (Racers For Christ) or Twitter (@TeamRFC)!

Jackie Powers is both a wife and mother. Since 2018, she is also the Team RFC® Social Media Specialist. She creates content and monitors our Facebook and Twitter feeds. God is using her as part of the ministry of Team RFC® to make an impact for Jesus in the world of motorsports through social media.

While visiting Joe, I couldn’t help but be inspired by his passion for the game and serving others, even while being in his 80’s. I told him he was functioning in a ministry roll. He laughed and said, “As long as we put Jesus first in our lives, He will continue to use us.” AMEN.

Hebrews 6:10 says, “God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.”

We are committed to serving Jesus in the racing community across the country. Along with RFC, my family loves sharing The Good News to all with whom we come in contact. Jesus never forced Himself on others, He loved them first. That is my drive, loving others as Jesus loved them. That is why we travel across the country for all 24 of the NHRA National Event Series races. We love our racing community just as Joe loves his community.

John 12:26 states, “Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my

servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.” Jesus promises us that where we go, He goes with us. On or off the race track, work or play, traveling across country, He is always with us. Just as Joe said, “All we have to do is put Jesus first.”

Beverly and I are so blessed to serve the NHRA families throughout the year, not just during race weekend but year-round. I love the smell of nitro, the sound of engines roaring, and the energy around the track. It’s exciting to see a pair of Pro Stock cars run side by side all the way down the 1320. We also look forward to the Four-Wide Nationals each and every year. But my true passion comes from the love we have for the people we serve. That’s what keeps us going.

I pray that when I am Joe’s age, I can still function in this community we so love. But for now, we are going to enjoy the journey that God has put before us. I want to encourage each of you not to give up. We are told in 2 Chronicles 15:7, “But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” Your reward awaits!

“Victory Road” StoriesTaken from Lee Benton, Victory Road videos

Steve Hanson is the Team RFC® Dirt Sports Director. He assists at various off-road events from short course stadium style races and desert races, to rock racing competitions in the Southwestern U.S. and even down into Baja Mexico.

Steve prays with the drivers and crews, holds chapel services, makes hospital visits when there’s an accident and befriends the people at the track. He is available to the drivers and teams throughout each event to offer a word of encouragement, prayer, and hope in the Living God.

Lee Benton, host of Victory Road, travels around the country meeting people who have had incredible victories of faith in their lives and tells their stories. Recently, Lee paid a visit to Steve at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, CA during a Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing event. She interviewed Steve, as well as World Champion Racers Jeremy McGrath, Brian Deegan and his daughter Hailie, Curt and Kyle LeDuc, Darren Hardesty, and Dave Mason. In this two-part interview, she spotlights how the drivers got their start, what racing means to them, and how Steve has made an impact in their lives. Each of these drivers tell how thankful they are to Steve (“Chappy”) for bringing God to the track.

To watch these incredible videos, go to YouTube.com, do a search for “Racers For Christ Steve Hanson.”

In the videos, Lee points out that Steve has an anointing on his life to share the Good News with others. The racers and crews respond favorably to the Gospel of Christ. Steve exudes such love to others, that people pour it back to him.

Steve says that it is an incredible experience for him to walk down the staging lanes and see the gloved hands reach out through the nets to take his hand so the drivers can receive a blessing from the Lord. Drivers say that they feel peace once Steve has prayed with them. Steve knows that peace comes only from the Holy Spirit. He is happy to share that with them as he knows his mission is to the spread the love of Jesus Christ.

Steve has led people to Christ who otherwise may have never known about the love of God. In this sport, as well as in life,

it is so important to stay prayed up and right with God. At Racers For Christ®, we feel so blessed to have Steve Hanson as part of our team to bring inspiration to the world of motorsports.

Heeding the CallTeam RFC® covers over 2,000 events a year. Unfortunately there are still many more events, happening every weekend, that do not have a RFC presence. We rely on volunteers, who feel God's call upon their life to serve within the world of motorsports, to help fill these gaps.

Do you love racing or rodding? Do you love the Lord Jesus Christ with all your heart? Would you like information about becoming a volunteer for Team RFC®? Radio Controlled Cars in TexasBy Chaplain Chad HowardIn the world of racing, there are small tracks and national event tracks, sportsman classes and professional classes, big cars and small cars! Small cars are a BIG part of our North Texas RFC program. The RCDRL (Radio Controlled Drag Racing League) meets twice per month at the world famous, Texas Motor Speedway to host a one-day race for some awesome RC car drag racing. The RCDRL is in its 6th year with divisions in Texas,

Louisiana, and California. My daughter, Dallas and I, took the lead for this series in 2017 with Chaplain Clint Parker who had been serving the league prior to getting involved with the RFC ministry at Texas Motorplex in Ennis. Clint, Dallas, and I continue to build relationships with a great group of racers at each event.

A day at the RC drags starts around 6:30 AM and ends around 8:00 PM. It’s a day packed full of several classes, featuring Traxxas Funny Cars, 1/10th scale Top Fuel Dragsters running 120+ mph, to 5’ long ¼ scale dragsters. Most races average 140-160 cars entered in various categories. The 132’ long track is well prepped just like the big track and runs on a full size timing system. Competitors battle for points, trophies, and the opportunity to build relationships with other opponents in the sport.

Serving as chaplains, Dallas and I have seen continued growth that has built a path to share Jesus Christ to racers. We lead prayers, pass out RFC information, offer RFC Bibles and decals, and share the message of Jesus Christ. We are looking forward to seeing this great league expand while taking the opportunity to share the love of Christ even more.

Thank You!When it comes to telling all of our partners in the ministry how much we appreciate them, the words “Thank You” cannot be emphasized enough. We have prayer partners who faithfully pray for the ministry. We have donors who give at events, through the mail or even online. We also have those who make in-kind donations. Some examples of in-kind donations are hotel rooms, frequent flyer miles and buddy passes, items for our golf tournament and auction, printing, trailers, golf carts, cars, trucks, real estate and much more. We are blessed with each and every gift we receive to help further the ministry of Team RFC® and we want to make sure to tell everyone “Thank You.”

Detroit AutoramaBy Chaplain Mike Oginsky

This year marked the 67th Annual Detroit Autorama over the first weekend of March. As I had done many times before, I planned on entering my 1967 Chevy Camaro into the show. I got new carpet because I lost a heater core that ruined the carpet. The driver’s seat ripped on the lower section and had to be repaired. I had to repaint the inner fender skirts. Plus, cleaning anything and everything inside and out. I had to sand and rub out a couple of paint defects. I rebuffed the entire car with polish. It was looking really good. I filled out the car entry application and I was going to have my car shipped down to Cobo Hall in Detroit. However, when my boss, Frank, took all the applications to the chairman, he told Frank that I’ve been there too many times. I wasn’t able to show my car. So much for all the work; I was upset for almost 5 minutes. (Mike, aka “Rev. Hot Rod” is a happy, easy going guy who is always fun to be around.)

Now I got to focus on the ministry of having a Rodders booth at this wonderful show. The chairman, Tim Godbout gave us a 10’ by 10’ booth space for the Rodders table and space in the exhibitor’s lounge for the Sunday chapel service. We had nine chaplains committed to help share the love of Jesus with show attendees. On Wednesday, before the show opened, Chaplain Stanley Ritterbach and I set-up the table. I came back on Thursday and saw a lot of friends. I went over to the Wizard Polish guys and Adam Bateman told me to come with him. We ended up spreading love and kindness by polishing a 1969 Buick Riviera for the guys from the TV show Wrenched. What fun!

On Friday, I handed out freebies like Summit hats and decals to young

adults who participated in an automotive education program. Over the course of the weekend, I handed out several Hot Wheels cars which made a lot of happy children.

On Saturday, we posted the chapel service signs. We had a very busy day praying with people. We prayed for comfort and peace for a man that was going to have neck surgery. He was very scared. Next a crying man told me that his wife’s Alzheimer’s had gotten so bad, that she had forgotten his name. He was hurting bad; I prayed for comfort and peace. Another man came by and asked us to pray for his dying nephew who had cancer. My wife, Judy, prayed for a miracle. All the chaplains were praying with us. Saturday was a great day of prayer.

Sunday morning, we held a short chapel service for the vendors. Then I headed to the exhibitor’s lounge for a larger church service with car show attendees. Both services went well. Jill Goodale did the song service, then I gave the Word. It was a busy weekend and one of the best ever. I spent several long days at the Detroit Autorama, but I’m thankful for the connections that we made, the hope in Jesus we were able to share, and the gorgeous cars with which we were surrounded.

Jesus longs for us to have. The kind of faith that says, “I am all in Jesus, I trust you no matter the cost.”

We continue reading, “11Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish. 12When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, ‘Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.’ 13So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten.”

Racers For Christ® started off, not with five loaves but, with five men. Five men who wanted to make a difference among the crowds of people within the world of motorsports. They wanted to share the message of love and forgiveness that Jesus has to offer. They may have felt like that little boy, that they didn’t have a lot to give and maybe

they wondered; would it really make a difference? But they gave God what they had and turned it over to Him. And God did something miraculous. What began as something small has definitely grown over the years and has helped feed the spiritual needs of many thousands of people in various types of motorsports, across the country and around the world.

God is continuing to call men and women to partner with and serve Him through Team RFC® in many different capacities. He calls some to serve as chaplains, assistants, prayer partners, board members, directors, or financial supporters. You may feel like you don’t have much to give or that it couldn’t possibly make any kind of difference.

But when you give your time, talents, or treasures willingly to God, for His purpose and His glory, no matter how insignificant you feel it might be, it is ALL He needs. How is God calling you?

Redneck Stress Relief 2 The Season Finale By Chaplain Bill Blanchette

While setting up at the Redneck Stress Relief 2 event at I-37 Speedway, I arrived early to set up my table and materials by the driver registration. I greeted teams

as they passed by on the way to their pits and as they checked in their transponders. The event had an abbreviated racing schedule, no points, just a fairly decent purse for Sport Mod, Street Stock, Pure Stock, and Sport Compact. It was interesting to see how the lineup was done for the irregulars (demo derby & trailers). The decision was to be a combination of order and pill draw. The front gate was busy that night, checking in several more demo derby drivers than those who checked in at the registration shack.

In total, there were about 60 cars checked in. The heats were very light with no B-Mains. The racing went quickly and finished well with no drama. The trailers were pulled by trucks, a Durango, and a hearse. The trailers were all boats except for a jet ski on the back of one (8 rigs altogether). As part of the challenge, obstacles were placed right in front of the grandstands and drivers were pulling their rigs very fast. After one or two laps, the drivers started to lose their "water craft." One of the pullers was an F-350 that plowed into his own boat and sent the trailer and splinters of the boat flying. The two winners were a 70's era Monte Carlo that had managed to keep his boat and the hearse together with its trailer. Drivers continued around the course, tearing it up until one of the track owners' pickup got flipped over; there were no roll cages. The racing stopped while the safety crew went out and everyone was determined to be okay. The track owner thanked me when he finished saying that my prayer had worked. I was praying frequently for him while they were getting him out and was very thankful he and his co-

driver walked away unharmed.

There were about twice as many derby cars than originally expected. Word got out and there were some "regular" demolition derby folks bringing their cars and were ready to rumble. I talked to one guy who said his car had been in four events and he won his last race. It was hard to believe. The car was yellow and the front and back ends were turned up making it look like a motorized banana. This race turned out to be that car’s “last hurrah.” The crowd enjoyed it and I'm glad the day of racing ended safely.

Bill Blanchette has been a chaplain for Team RFC® since January 2015. He began serving as the track chaplain at I-37 Speedway, in Pleasanton, TX in 2018.

Golf Tournament BlessingBy Jim Jack, Golf Tournament Director

In 2009, God opened the door for an opportunity to have a small fundraising golf tournament benefitting Team RFC® the day before the NHRA Finals in Pomona, CA. It was a one-shot deal in November with a truly meager start…but it was the start of something no one imagined.

The next year—because of unexpected circumstances—the prospect of RFC taking over the golf tournament presented itself, and with RFC Board approval, we jumped at the idea, knowing this could be something that would benefit RFC in a good way. With no experience of directing a golf tournament, but seeing what God could possibly do with some hard work, prayer, and planning, we decided to give it a try. To our amazement, and through God’s blessing, the golf tournament stepped up and developed noticeably more than the meager start of the first year.

Seeing what God could do with this opportunity, it was time to work harder, plan harder, pray harder to see where the Lord would take this vital fundraiser. Through our many years of wonderful friendships, long-lasting relationships with racers, sponsors, and friends, the racing community started stepping up for Team RFC®. The biblical principle of “you reap what you sow” is a truism in all aspects of life. And, it is true in directing a golf tournament as well. Team RFC® personnel

have strived to sow the seeds of friendship through the years with our many friends in the racing world. These seeds have turned the RFC Golf Tournament into a wonderful time of fun, food, fellowship, and fundraising on a scale in which we never dreamed.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to everyone who has been a part of our golf tournament for the past ten years. We have been blessed beyond our wildest dreams for the support

everyone has given to help Team RFC® continue to share the Good News at the racetracks (and golf course) around this great nation of ours. May God bless each and every one of you who have helped make this tournament a success, and may God bless those who will be future supporters and participants.
