    Advisory Council to Meet Today

    The Advisory Council, headed by Mansour Hassan, is meeting today to discuss the Presidential Elections Law, the transitional period within the current constitutional provisions and the Constituent Assembly.

    The meeting will be attended by 32 members. The meeting will also tackle the rules of procedure inside the Council, said Nour

    Farahat, secretary general of the advisory council.

    MB Turns to International Organization to Begin Renaissance Project

    The Muslim Brotherhood group started extensive movements abroad, aiming to revive foreign investments and increasing activities of Egyptian companies overseas.

    An official MB source said that the group seeks to prove efficiency and worthiness of

    its success in the parliamentary elections. The source added that Khairat al-Shatir, Deputy Guide of the MB, who is in charge of the project the group calls „the Comprehensive Renaissance Project‟, just returned from Turkey where he made negotiations with Turkish businessmen to increase investments in Egypt.

    The source also said that al-Shatir started communications with members of the MB‟s

    international organization inside the Libyan National Transitional Council, seeking to get contracts for Egyptian construction companies.

    Elections Update in al-Dustour

    Al-Karama Party withdraws from the Ally after MB stand from Kasr Al-Einy incidents.

    31 parties and 58 individual candidates compete on 6 Parliament seats.

    MB hit the polls in South Giza constituency.

    MB news was mentioned in Al-Gomhoreya.

    Election Updates

    The Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) won all seats in Sharqiya governorate in the runoff

    of the second phase of the parliamentary elections.

    Former Social Solidarity Minister and parliamentary candidate Ali el-Moseli failed

    miserably in gaining votes in Sharqiya.

    The FJP won eight seats in Monofiya, while Salafist Al-Nour Party garnered one.

    Islamists also dominated the voting in Ismailia governorate, where former National

    Democratic Party (NDP) members failed to get a single seat.

    Security sources are working to unravel the mystery surrounding the disappearance of a

    parliamentary candidate, Ibrahim el-Nadi, in Qalubiya governorate. He is affiliated to the

    Democratic Peace Party.

    The FJP failed to garner any seats in Aswan in the runoffs. Al-Nour secured one seat

    there. A 30% voter turnout was observed in the governorate.

    In Beni Suef, the FJP got four seats and Al-Nour two.

    Islamists trounced businessmen in Sohag.

    So far, 298 seats of the parliament have been elected:

    FJP: 141 seats.

    Al-Nour Party: 68.

    Al-Wafd: 22.

    Egyptian Bloc: 22.

    Independent candidates: 16.

    Parties formed by remnants of former regime: 7.

    Al-Wasat Party: 7.

    Revolution Continues Coalition: 5.

    Reform and Development Party: 5.

    Court Starts Trial of Defendants in Israeli Embassy Incidents

    The High State Security Emergency Court will start on Saturday the trial of 76 people accused of attempting to storm the premises of the Israeli and Saudi embassies and the Giza Security Directorate on September 9. The violent incidents left three people dead and more than 1,000 injured.

    Israel builds shelters on Egyptian borders

    Israeli Front of the Israeli Army announced its plan to build 50 underground anti-

    rocket shelters in settlements near the Egyptian-Israeli borders and Gaza Strip. This came as a response to the complaints of Israeli citizens that Palestinian rockets fall

    on the southern regions without having any shelters.

    The Egyptian Military Attaché in Washington, Mahamed El-Keshky, said Abd El-

    Moneim Kato‟s statements about handling protestors represent his personal opinion only, they do not represent the Military Institution.

    Mansour Hassan’s Interview

    President of the Advisory Council, Mansour Hassan, sat in an interview with El-Akhbar. He said:

    The decision now is in the hands of the people to return to the right path. Those who burnt down the Egyptian Institute are not revolutionaries but hired riot

    starters. I have nothing against the Muslim Brotherhood as a majority in the parliament. The Military Council should have apologized to Egyptian women for what happened. Salafists will perform well in the parliament, they should not be feared.

    El-Zend: Former Regime Figures Can Only Be Tried In Front Of A Civilian Court

    Head of the Judges Club, Ahmed El-Zend, sat down with El-Akhbar reporter, he stated:

    The sovereignty of the law must be respected. Figures of the former regime must be tried in front of a civilian court otherwise the

    world will not accept the rulings. I have a good relation with the head of the HEC. The lawyers‟ crisis had to do with the state and not the judges.

    Al-Ahram: Egyptian state-run official daily newspaper

    Founded in 1875, is the most widely circulating Egyptian daily newspaper, and the

    second oldest after al-Waqa'i`al-Masriya (English: The Egyptian Events, founded 1828).

    It is majority owned by the Egyptian government.

    Al-Akhbar: Egyptian state-owned semi-official daily newspaper

    It was founded in May 1952 as a part of Akhbar El Yom.

    Al-Gomhoria: Egyptian state-owned daily newspaper

    An influential state-owned Egyptian Arabic language daily newspaper. It was

    established in 1954.

    Al-Shorouk: Egyptian daily independent newspaper

    Is a prominent Arabic newspaper published in Egypt [1] and several other Arabic

    nations It is a daily independent newspaper, covering mainly politics, militant affairs

    and sport.

    Al-Masry al-Yom: Independent daily newspaper

    On 7 June 2004, it published its first edition. The paper initially circulated primarily

    amongst Cairo‟s intellectual elite, providing objective news coverage in the belief that

    good news would beat sensationalist reporting found in other Egyptian print media.

    After 3 years, it was challenging Al-Ahram for the status of being the national paper of
