Attended and laid a wreath at the Remembranceceremony at
Fulham War Memorial. The service was led by Fr Joe
Hawes. For photos see below.
Welcomed the author of photo books Old Fulhamand Old
Sands End, Francis Szucha and his wife, Sue, to Parliament,
to be Gregs guests for Prime Ministers Question Time. For

Attended a special event to celebrate 30 years on the Royal
Borough Council for retiring Councillor Frances Taylor.
Frances treated us all to reminiscences of her time on the
Council and some wise words of advice for those seeking to
emulate her!
Campaigned in Rochester for the forthcoming by election, to

New Government Tax Summaries ShowHardworking Taxpayers Where
Their Money
is Being SpentGreg Hands, MP for Chelsea and Fulham, has
welcomed theintroduction of the new personal Annual Tax Summary,
which is beingsent to taxpayers across the country. Starting
yesterday, over 24million hardworking taxpayers will start to
receive the new TaxSummary statement which sets out how much direct
tax they pay,including Income Tax and National Insurance, and how
that money isbeing spent by the Government.
This will mean most taxpayers in Chelsea and Fulham will see
exactlyhow their taxes are being used. Greg Hands backs
Conservativeplans to cut inefficient and ineffective spending so we
can reduce thedeficit and cut income tax further.24 million
taxpayers (out of 29.9 million) across the country willreceive a
personal Annual Tax Summary. 16 million PAYE taxpayerswill receive
their summary in the post over the next seven weeks, and8 million
self-assessment taxpayers will be able to access their taxsummary
online Tax Summaries are going to everyone who hasupdated their tax
position in the last two years. Someone wont get asummary if they
havent paid income tax in the last year, or if HMRC iswaiting for
information such as a change of address, or PAYE info
from their employer.Greg Hands MP said: As Conservatives, we
believe taxpayersdeserve to know how the Government spends the
money they haveearned and paid in taxes. These new personal tax
summaries willdeliver exactly that - letting many taxpayers in
Chelsea and Fulhamfind out how much direct tax theyre paying and
what its being spenton. This is part of delivering more transparent
Government, and willmean fairer taxes for everyone, with
hardworking taxpayers able tohold politicians to account for how
money is spent.As part of the Conservatives long-term economic
plan, income taxhas already been cut for 26 million people, by the
raising of thepersonal allowance and a cut in the top rate of
income tax, with thetypical taxpayers income tax bill cut by 705
since 2010. In Chelseaand Fulham an estimated 46,440 people have
had their income taxcut, with approximately 5,120 low earners taken
out of paying incometax altogether giving them greater financial
security.
Greg added: I am pleased that the Conservatives in Government
arecutting taxes for working people and ensuring work pays. Over
46,000taxpayers in Chelsea and Fulham now pay less tax than they
didunder the last Government, and this represents over half of
myconstituents. Only by electing a Conservative government at the
nextelection can we ensure that taxes for hardworking people
continue tofall; Ed Miliband has made it clear that Labour would
pursue a pathback to the bad old days of high tax, higher spending,
and even higher
borrowing.The Conservatives have committed to go further after
the nextelection and cut taxes for 30 million people by raising the
personalallowance to 12,500, and lifting the threshold at which
people pay thehigher rate of tax to 50,000.

Greg Hands MP praises the work of Charity
TrusteesChelsea and Fulham MP, Greg Hands, is joining with the
NationalCouncil for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) in celebrating
thecontribution that trustees make as part of Trustees Week,
whichbegins on Monday 10 November 2014.Hundreds of events will be
taking place this week as charities useTrustees Week as a time to
thank the one million trustees acrossEngland and Wales for their
time and dedication.There are 351 voluntary organisations in
Chelsea and Fulham that allrely on the dedication, energy and
commitment of c. 1,700 trustees inorder to support their
beneficiaries. Trustees are the people ultimately
in charge of a charity. They make decisions that help charities
achievetheir aims and change their beneficiaries lives.Trustees
Week is also a time to encourage more people to becometrustees, as
many voluntary organisations find it difficult to recruit
newtrustees. As many as one in five charities are looking for a
newtrustee.Local MP Greg Hands said: I am delighted to support the
NCVO incelebrating Trustees Week. I am a trustee myself, at the
BrunswickClub for Young People in Fulham, and have been so since
2003. Iwould like to extend my thanks to other local residents who
work astrustees in other charities, who do a tremendous amount of
good workin Chelsea and Fulham.Being a trustee allows you not only
to make a difference to the lives ofothers, but to learn new
skills, meet different people, and develop yourcareer. Voluntary
organisations are always looking for a range of skillsand different
backgrounds on their boards, as well as more youngpeople.Greg
added: Serving as a trustee is a fantastic way to give back toyour
community and is very rewarding. I would encourage residents tocome
along to some of NCVOs events this week and find out

WestminsterAfghanistan WithdrawalThis week saw the end of our
combat operations in Afghanistan. Ibelieve the sacrifice and
bravery of our Armed Forces has givenAfghanistan the best possible
chance of a stable future, laid thefoundations for a strong Afghan
security force, and stopped thecountry being used as a launch pad
for terrorist attacks into the UK.We will always remember the
courage of those who served there onour behalf and never forget
those who made the ultimate sacrifice.The Ministry of Defences
announcement on this can be found here.1.7 billion payment request
from the EUI am pleased the Prime Minister informed the House of
Commons thisweek that he has demanded European finance ministers
holdemergency talks to discuss this issue. I believe it is
completelyunjustified for the EU to demand a 1.7 billion bill for
Britain to pay,and we need to seek a resolution on it urgently. At
this meeting weneed to make sure the Commission answers questions
about howthese numbers were arrived at. The Prime Minister has been
veryclear on this issue though that the UK will not be paying the
bill on 1stDecember and we reject a payment of this scale. I hope
we can workwith our European counterparts to find a satisfactory
conclusion onthis matter.
EU Referendum BillUnfortunately, after progress in debating the
EU Referendum Bill lastweek, the Liberal Democrats have not granted
the Bill the criticalsupport it needed to proceed into committee
stage. In addition, wealso hoped that they might make the Bill a
Government Bill whichwould have guaranteed its safe passage through
the Commons asecond time, but they have also refused this. However,
theConservative party is still committed to having an in-out
referendumby 2017, and will deliver this if we are elected into
Government at the2015 election.
