    Dear Resident,

This is the 100th email newsletter Ihave sent to residents inBournemouth West, Alderney andBranksome East.Instead of sending the usual roundup of what I have been up toaround the constituency and inWestminster, I thought it would beappropriate to put together acompilation of some of the highlights from the last few years. It is a great honour to represent this part of our country in the House of

Commons and I remain as committed as ever to working hard to bringthe changes we need, whilst also preserving the traditions andcustoms we value as a nation.I will always put Bournemouth and Poole first and am not afraid tostand up for what is right, even if that means going against my ownGovernment. For example this year I resigned as the ParliamentaryPrivate Secretary to the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland overthe Governments proposals to abolish the House of Lords and I havealso publically committed my support for an in/out referendum onBritains membership of the European Union by signing The PeoplesPledge.

As your local MP, I aim to be as accessible to local people aspossible. If there is ever anything I can do to help, no matter how bigor how small, local or national, please get in touch either by post, phone or email (details below). I hold regular surgeries across thewhole constituency and you can even keep tabs on what I am doing torepresent you by following me on Twitter at @Conor_BurnsMP.The next edition will be back to the usual local and national newsstories, however if you have any suggestions about the sort of thingsyou would like me to report back on, then please do get in touch. With kind regards,

Conor Burns MPMember of Parliament for Bournemouth West,

    Alderney and Branksome East

    Key Local Achievements 2010-2012

Since being elected I have strived to focus my efforts on thoseareas which will genuinelyimprove things for local people. Hereare someof the achievements I regard as particular highlights:

Directly secured over 11.1 million for St Aldhelm's Academy

from the Department of Education. The bulk of the money is

forthe replacement ofoutdated buildings with a new two storey

structure which will have extensive facilities for the arts and

science, as well as well as refurbishing existing facilities for

skills based courses, such as construction or beauty.

Directly secured nearly 10 million for the Bourne Academy(formerly Kings High), enabling the school to grow to 1,000

pupils and develop an engineering department.

Worked with local Councillors to save Talbot Heath from

development proposals that would have seen the precious

green space destroyed. I lobbied Ministers to ensure planning

    permission could not be granted.

Kept up pressure on Government to ensure new immigration

rules do not adversely affect our local language schools -

including taking representatives of local language schools to

    meet with Ministers directly.

Intervened to save Suttoners Cricket Club at Kinson Manner

from closures following an attempt to close them down on

    health and safety grounds.

Worked with travel website TripAdvisor to help small

businesses in the tourism sector in Bournemouth.

I also continue to work hard to resolve major issues such as:

Stopping the Navitus Bay Wind Park which will blight the

    Bournemouth coastline.

Opposing proposed travellers sites in Bournemouth and the

rules which arbitrarily force them on local communities.

Potential local sites including one in the Lansdowne have

been earmarked due to rules left by the last Labour

    government.

Ensuring the replacement for the IMAX site in Bournemouth is

suitable and fitting for the local area.

For fullcoverage of issues I am working on, please see the newssection ofmy website here.

    Annual Reports

Before I was elected as your local Member of Parliament Ipromised to produce annual reports, detailing my work locallyand in Parliament. Please click on the images below to read my first and secondAnnual Reports.

    Videos and photos

I try to ensure as many of mycontributions in the House ofCommons and appearances on newsand current affairs programmes are puton YouTube, so local people can see

and hear what I am saying on their behalf. Please click here to seethe archive from the past couple of years.

I also maintain a picture gallery of localevents I have attended and groups Iam supporting. Please click here to

see the gallery of over 200 photos, or click on some of the thumbnailsbelow to see the full size version and captions.

Key Government Achievements 2010-2012Since the coalition was formed between the Conservatives andLiberal Democrats in May 2010, two parties have come togetherto tackle the serious economic problems which we face and to

reform public services to meet the needs of the 21st century.Building a recovery on real growth and investment:

    24 new Enterprise Zones created.

Corporation tax cut to 24 per cent this year. Down from 28 per

cent. It will be reduced to 22 per cent by 2014-15 making the

UK the most tax competitive in the G20.

Labours Jobs Tax stopped. Labour planned to add 1% to

Employer National Insurance making it harder for companies to

create jobs.National Loan Guarantee Scheme is helping businesses

    access cheaper finance.

    177,000 more apprenticeships delivered.

Work Programme helping 332,000 people back into work.

Planning system reformed with the new National Planning

Policy Framework to support growth and give a greater say to

    communities.

3.3 billion net cut in the cost of red tape to business as a

result of the Red Tape Challenge.

Small business rate relief holiday for two and a half years.

Growing Places Fund with its 500 million to assist local

    infrastructure projects.

Youth Contract introduced to help young people back into work.

New Enterprise Allowance is helping unemployed people who

want to start their own business.

On the side of people who work hard and want to get on in life:

Income tax cut for 25 million and 1.1 million taken out of tax so

    far.

Fuel duty cut, now 10p lower than it would have been under

    Labour.

Council tax frozen twice a real terms cut this year.

Benefit cap introduced linked to average weekly earnings,

which will limit the amount of benefits a household can receive

    to 26,000 a year.

The biggest ever cash increase to the Basic State Pension of

5.30 per week, thanks to our triple lock.

More good school places restoring discipline to the classroom,

raising standards and improving the quality of teaching.

Tackling immigration by capping the number of non-EU skilled

workers at 20,700 a year. No non-EU unskilled workers areallowed. We have shut bogus colleges and will turn away those

students at the border who do not speak English.
