Projection Media

Photography Team

Projection media team ensure that each of newLife’s corporate events are supported by good quality video projection.

Projection is integral to newLife services, enhancing the experience and enabling the congregation to easily follow what is being communicated

and more importantly... to sing along to the songs - it can make or break the service!

Team members will be trained in using the continually upgraded software and they will learn to be quick with their fingers and more importantly to

stay alert to any changes that occur or problems that need resolving as the event progresses.

Photographs capture a moment in time, possibly a moment taking place in one fleeting second. The photography team have one mission; to capture as many priceless moments that happen over the course of an event, with as much clarity and artistic skill as they can muster. Photographs will be used to update newLife’s social media and where appropriate for the printed media that newLife uses to promote it’s services and events.

newLife produce leaflets, booklets, posters, fliers, web notices, notices for projection... to name a few. The aim is always to present information or advertise an event through an attractive and excellent item produced through graphic design - well designed yet communicating the ‘flavour’ of newLife. Creative flair is definitely required here. The software packages that newLife use are made by Adobe; Photoshop, In Design and Adobe Illustrator. Familiarity with packages such as these or the equivalent would be preferable however training can be arranged to assist you to upskill your creativity.

Audio Production Cinematography

Graphic Design Video Production

The Cinematography team have control of the cameras used to project live video feed of an event, currently onto the screen via the projection software but hopefully soon to be used to webcast via the internet. Skill in using the camera to capture a stable and smooth image as well as being discreet when operating to not disrupt the flow or enjoyment of an event is needed - training will be given. The team will also be involved in capturing footage for video projects to be edited by the video production team. Such projects may require more artistic camera work and familiarity with some of the tips and tricks that they use to good effect in the movies.

The podcast is a vital audio output processing messages from newLife and making them available on the web or by creating a copy for a newLifer to take away, allowing them to listen again and digest what has been said in a service. An audio producer will be trained in using the editing software and to understand how to upload items to newLife’s website. Podcasting is due to develop in scope to include other projects - not just the message on a Sunday morning. An audio producer will also cross their skills with the video production team when video projects crop up.

Video production is an important part of the creative process. It’s where the raw footage of a project is sifted through and edited together. The video producer will work to a brief in order to edit the project appropriately, creating the right feel to the work with a suitable pace and structure. There is nothing like seeing the final product run smoothly and effectively on screen in front of it’s first audience.Training will be given to use editing software to good effect but creative flare and an ability to imagine what you want the finished product to look like will help.

Webcast Video Producer

A webmaster will have some management of newLife’s web presence, from the newLife website to the social media site pages that we own, such as Facebook, Twitter and Flickr. All the content that they edit must communicate the flavour of newLife and any text content must have an appropriate newLife voice, remembering at all times that you are representing newLife to the world... or at least the World Wide Web.

The webmaster must check that all content is up-to-date including adverts for upcoming events and key information that may have changed with regards an event. This will be achieved by keeping in constant communication with the centre manager, head of creative arts and department heads at The House.

You will be trained in using WordPress however you will be encouraged to learn about any new features that the software offers to be included on our webpage and to think creatively how we can improve the layout and functions of the newLife page.

The webmaster will also familiarise themselves with managing the social media pages and will create and update event content as well as respond with those interacting with the site.

This is developmental role and one where you will be learning how to effectively webcast as we also learn as a team. You will be made aware of the webcasting software that we are currently using and the webcast producing software that allows for you to video mix the webcast, moving seamlessly between still images and live video feed; effectively in a similar way to a television channel.
