Rugby League Class
On the 1st of September our schools’ Rugby League class played its first game of the year against St Joseph’s here at
the Sport & Recreation Field.
A lot of hard work had been established prior to this game and it was displayed on the field through our fitness,
strength and techniques. To lead as Captain for our Rugby League team out for the first time young Jarrod Northam
was given this opportunity as he had shown during training that he had the ability to work hard, positively influenced
other players and by his commitment to the team.
From kick-off both teams displayed their want to win this game with some great defensive by Tom Watego, Jens
Ambjerg-Pedersen, James Morgan, AJ Rosas, Cody Kelly, and Connor Vincent.
With the ball in attack Tom Watego, Bill Jones, Luke McAdam Roberts, Steven Mole, Raymond Davidson, and Dylan
Lee showed that hard running and determination enabled our team to attack the opposition try line.
The final score of the game was 30 – 18 in favour of Katherine High and the ‘man of the match’ was deserved and
given Steven Mole with him running in all 6 of the tries for Katherine High.
Overall, the team should be happy with this game as is showed that we have the ability to develop and go further
with Rugby League continuing the current hard work and determination to raise our game to the next level for us to
dominate on & off the Rugby League field as positive, well behaved young men.
