The Atlanta Federal Executive Board Welcomes its New Chairperson Mr. Robin Bailey, Jr., is the Southeast Regional Administrator at USDA - Food and Nutrition Service (FNS). He has over 30 years of faithful service to America in various senior levels in the Department of the Air Force and Department of Agriculture. As the Regional Administrator for FNS, he provides executive direction and leadership while orchestrating the execution of all 15 Federal nutrition programs which provide annual benefits in excess of $25 billion through cooperating state agencies in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Prior to FNS, he served as Director of Human Resources Management, U.S. Forest Service, Albuquerque, New Mexico where he led over 600 personnel who provided Human Resources Management policy and operational services for approximately 50,000 permanent, temporary, and seasonal employees. Mr. Bailey is an Air Force veteran and he also served as an Air Force Civilian in a wide range of leadership positions, to include the Civilian Deputy & Staff Director to the 96th Air Base Wing Commander, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. In this capacity, he co-led more than 5,000 men and women in providing essential base operating support and services for more than 20,000 personnel, six wings, and 50 associate units at the Department of Defense’s largest installation. Mr. Bailey holds a Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Oklahoma. He was selected as a member of the Senior Executive Service in 2009 and appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture as an Executive Resources Board Member in 2013. MARCH 2018

Celebrating 15 Years of Leadership Development for Federal Agencies

The Atlanta Federal Executive Board (FEB) is proud to announce the Leadership Government Program (LG) Class of 2018... The Best Class Ever! The class consists of 32 participants from over 15 Federal agencies within the Atlanta metropolitan area.

LG was designed to build a cadre of seasoned professionals, GS-13 through GS-15, who possess a broad understanding of the role of the federal government in society and recognize the value of inter- agency collaboration in accomplishing federal initiatives. Students must complete the application process including supervisory approval. Applications are reviewed and selections made by a panel of individuals from various federal agencies. Since its inception in 2003, the LG Program has provided opportunities for leadership development and inter-agency collaboration to over 500 participants.

With its continued evolution, the 2018 LG program not only assists participants in developing a broader perspective of managerial competencies, but now also offers several key enhancements to give participants important leadership credentials upon completion!

Enhancements to this year's program include:

· 40+ Hours of ECQ Core Competency Training

· Two Job Shadowing Assignments

· Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification

· Paradigm 360 Coaching Certification with hands-on employee coaching experience

· Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and Mediation Certification with eligibility to participate in the Federal Shared Neutrals Program **(optional payment is required)

· Leadership Capstone

· Georgia Tech Leadership Challenge

· External Awareness Opportunities

· Mentoring Opportunities

Introducing the Peak Performance Program for Aspiring Leaders (P3)

Class of 2018

The Atlanta Federal Executive Board (FEB) has launched its 2018 Peak Performance Program (P3) ... The Best Class Ever! The class of 2018 consists of 30 students from federal agencies within the Atlanta metropolitan area.

The program, established in 2013, was developed to offer leadership development opportunities for aspiring leaders within the federal government in GS-7 through GS-12 grade levels. The program goals are to build a cadre of seasoned professionals who possess a broad understanding of the role of the federal government; to provide participants with challenging opportunities for professional growth through projects, lectures, seminars, reading, teamwork, and inter-agency experiences; and to assist participants in developing a broader perspective of managerial competencies. These competencies include interpersonal skills, influencing and negotiating, problem solving, leveraging diversity, team building, continual learning, and developing an alumni network and other alliances to further perpetuate leadership opportunities.
