What do my eyes see?

Feet scattering,

quickly

What do they see?

Is it too late?

I see…

worried faces,

shocked faces,

and scared faces.

“Over here, the victim is over here!”

Meanwhile…

I see…

people going back to their daily routines…

…selling newspapers,

taking the subway,

Money, Money for the poor?

and begging.

Please, anybody? Money?

People trying to make a living.

Popcorn for sale!

We’ll have some!

Thank you, have a nice day!

I see…

teenagers going home,

shoppers heading home with empty wallets,

and people saying goodbye to each other.

Just another day…

in the streets of New York.
