Required for all public school students – tests knowledge from 5th-8th grades

Taken in 2 parts over 2 days in May & June Written Section– multiple choice

& open-ended questions – 2 hrs Performance Section– 3

different tasks – 15 min each

Graded by science teachers and given scaled scores between 0-100 State standards require a score

of 65 or better to pass Students receiving less than a

65 will be offered Academic Intervention Services

Offered to any student who has completed the course

3 hr test offered in January, June, and August Combination of multiple choice &

open-ended questions

Students must pass 5 Regents Exams to graduate, including 1 science exam (Physics, Chemistry, Earth Science, or Living Environment)
