Len Pasquarelli, ESPN: The six-year contract that former Tampa Bay standout cornerback Donnie Abraham signed with the New York Jets two weeks ago is structured more like a three-year deal worth about $6.775 million. According to NFL Players Association documents, the six-year veteran got a signing bonus of just $1.5 million. But his base salaries for the initial two years of the contract, $525,000 in 2002 and $1.4 million in '03, are fully guaranteed. The Jets also guaranteed $1 million of his $3.1 million base salary for 2004, and there is a $250,000 roster bonus that year. In 2005, the team must pay Abraham a roster bonus of $3 million in March and his base salary that season drops to $1 million. His base for '06 is a whopping $5 million, and it rises to $6 million for 2007. There are March roster bonuses of $1 million in each of those years. Essentially, the team overcame a modest signing bonus by guaranteeing $4.425 million of the contract.

Barry Wilner, Charleston Gazette: Abraham, from South Carolina, also got a five-year deal with the third and fourth seasons guaranteed. He received a $2 million signing bonus and a total package worth $7.55 million.
Randy Lange, Bergen Record: both players will receive advances on base salaries in their first two years, and their base salaries in the third and fourth years are guaranteed. Lefft estimated that the contracts "guarantee effectively 80 percent of their deals." Besides their signing bonuses, both players today will receive advances on their rookie salaries… Abraham will get $577,000 of his $740,000 salary.
AP: His base salary for this season is $740,000, and Abraham will earn $900,000 next year, then $1,085 million, $1.275 million and $1.455 million. Like Ellis, Abraham has $100,000 worth of workout bonuses in the deal and is 2002 and 2003 salaries are guaranteed.

Rich Cimini, NY Daily News: [the contract] pays him $1.65 million annually
Adam Schefter, ESPN: three new years were added to Baker’s deal, putting him under contract through 2012. Baker received no guaranteed money for 2008, and his cap number in the current year didn’t change. But he’ll be eligible for $9 million in guaranteed money if he participates in 50 percent of the 2008 snaps, and if he’s on the roster on the fifth day of the 2009 league year. If he doesn’t participate in at least 50 percent of the snaps this year, the money is the same — there’s just no guaranteed cash.
Hutchinson: Baker, in the third year of a four-year contract, $6.6 million contract, has signed an extension that'll pay him $12.2 million over three years, according to the NFL Network. The deal could include $9 million guaranteed if he plays half the team's offensive plays this season and is on the roster the fifth day of the 2009 league year in March. Oddly, even if Baker does play 50 percent of the plays, the Jets could still cut him and that's a possibility with rookie Dustin Keller on the horizon. If Baker doesn't play 50 percent of the plays, the deal still calls for him to make $12.2 million but it's not guaranteed.
PFT: Next year, his base salary is $2.1 million. If he meets the play-time threshold and the team doesn’t cut him before the fifth day of the 2009 league year, the salary is guaranteed. Those same triggers would make his $2.73 million salary in 2010, his $3.36 million salary in 2011, and $810,000 of his $2.99 million salary in 2012 guaranteed

Randy Lange, Bergen Record: Chrebet signed his rookie free agent contract with the Jets in April 1995 -- for an NFL-minimum $119,000 plus a $1,500 signing bonus…
Gary Myers, NY Daily News: He was supposed to make the minimum $149,000. The Jets tore up that deal. They gave him $100,000 to sign and a base salary of $250,000 this year (followed by $400,000 and $750,000).
Randy Lange, Bergen Record: the package, including a $2 million signing bonus, will total almost $11.5 million. Adding reachable incentives, it could be worth almost $12 million.
Rich Cimini, NY Daily News: his bosses lavished him with praise and money - a new seven-year, $17.5 million contract, including a $6 million signing bonus… The 29-year-old receiver, who would have been a free agent after the season, will earn $11 million over the first three years of the deal.

Adam Schefter, ESPN: Chargers traded cornerback Antonio Cromartie to Jets for a 2011 third-round pick that could turn to a second.
Jason La Canfora, NFLN: The Jets are converting part of Cromartie’s $1.7 million salary for 2010 into a bonus (roughly $500,000), which he would receive now, rather than waiting until September, when players begin to receive their game checks.
Rich Cimini, ESPN New York: If Jets advance to divisionals, conditional 3rd rnd pick ('11) for Antonio Cromartie goes up to 2nd rnd, per source.
Manish Mehta, NY Daily News: it is a four-year deal worth $32 million [signed in 2011].
Rich Cimini, ESPN: He was a prime candidate because of a $2.3 million roster bonus due Wednesday. It appears he didn't lose any money in the restructuring. He was due to make a $7 million base salary plus the roster bonus, a total of $9.3 million. His base pay dropped to $840,000, the roster bonus was eliminated and he will receive the difference in the form of an $8.5 million signing bonus that will be pro-rated over the next two years. It drops his cap charge to $6.25 million, a savings of about $4.2 million.
Brian Costello, NY Post: The [2015] contract is for four years and $32 million, but only $7 million is guaranteed, and all of that comes in 2015… Cromartie, who turns 31 next month, has a base salary of $5 million and a $2 million roster bonus this season. The base salary is guaranteed, and he… is scheduled to make $8 million in 2016 and 2017 and his base salary is $9 million in 2018. He also has incentives that can escalate the value of the contract.

In a restructured deal he agreed to last week, he will earn a base salary of $700,000, fully guaranteed, according to NFL Players Association records. The $500,000 roster bonus he already received this offseason, as well as his $350,000 workout bonus, are intact in his restructured deal. He also received a $950,000 signing bonus, making his total compensation this year $2.5 million. His cap number, and total compensation, reduced by about $600,000 in the restructure. Since he is due a guaranteed $2.5 million, it is essentially assured that the team will not cut him. However, the contract also includes a $750,000 escalator, based on playing time, so DeVito has the opportunity to earn his money back.

But if Evans is productive and plays up to the form he has demonstrated with the Tennessee Titans in the past, someone will have to pay him next spring. New York can keep him for the final three years of the contract, but only by exercising a $3 million option, one that triggers base salaries of $1.2 million (for 2003), $1.9 million (2004) and $1.75 million (2005). Manish Mehta, NY Daily News: Here's the breakdown of the revised contract: Gholston actually gets a bump in base salary for 2010 after the restructuring. He was scheduled to earn $1.9 million and will now pocket $2.25 million in guaranteed money. Factor in a $4 million signing bonus and $250,000 workout bonus and Gholston will get $6.5 million for 2010. But the Jets get financial relief and can cut ties in 2011 when he's only scheduled to earn $550,000 (with incentives totaling as much as $9 million). Gholston is due a $2.5 million roster bonus in March 2011. But there's little chance he'll see that money if he underperforms this season. So the Jets can make a clean break if they desire after this season. (Gholston would make $650,000 in base salary with incentives that could reach $10 million in 2012, the final year of his deal).
Adam Schefter, ESPN: Gholston needs only one sack to trigger a $9.1 million roster bonus that the Jets would have the option to pick up next March. Gholston also could activate the $9.1 million bonus with 20 percent play time this season or one fumble recovery. If the Jets declined to pick it up, Gholston then would become an unrestricted free agent. This is an escalator that the Jets worked into Gholston's contract last offseason, when the two sides agreed to restructure his deal. So one sack, one fumble recovery, one interception or 20 percent play time could mean a big payday -- or it could punch Gholston's ticket out of New York.
Brian McIntyre, MacsFootballBlog.com: Gholston agreed to a contract restructure last April, which lowered his base salaries in 2011 and 2012. According to a league source, Gholston has nearly $6 million in roster bonuses the next two seasons ($2.565 in 2011, $3.34M in 2012). Through 2010 playing-time and/or qualifiers, those roster bonuses can increase, with 2011 roster bonus escalating to $9.195 million. With a cap number that is already at $6.273 million for 2011, such escalation to Gholston's roster bonus would make the club's decision much easier.

Frank Litsky, NY Times: that cornerback, Aaron Glenn of Texas A&M, agreed to a four-year contract reportedly worth $4.04 million, including a $2.1 million signing bonus.
AP: Glenn has agreed to terms on a five-year, $19.3 million contract extension with the New York Jets that will make him the second-highest-paid cornerback in the NFL behind Deion Sanders. The deal will replace a four-year, $4 million contract he signed as a rookie in 1994. It includes a $6 million signing bonus and also restructures this year's salary, giving the Jets more cap room. Including this season, the new deal is worth just less than $20 million.
Randy Lange, Bergen Record: The package for the fourth-year player from Texas A&M reportedly is worth about $ 19.4 million, including a $ 4.3 million signing bonus, plus incentives in the last two years that could boost Glenn's salary to the average of the five highest-paid corners in the league.

Timothy W. Smith, NY Times: the Jets headed off a possibly longer and acrimonious stalemate with their first-round selection, linebacker Marvin Jones, by coming to terms with him today on a five-year deal worth about $6 million, including a signing bonus of about $3.5 million. Incentives could raise the value of the package to $7.5 million.
Gordon Forbes, USA Today: The Jets closed the deal with agent Drew Rosenaus by agreeing to reward Jones with a $ 2.5 million Pro Bowl bonus in the fifth year. He gets the bonus if he makes the Pro Bowl any time before that. Assuming Jones is a Pro Bowler, he would earn $ 3.4 million in his fifth season. Jones also gets a separate $ 250,000 Pro Bowl bonus that is added to his base and rolled over the following year.
Rich Cimini, NY Daily News: Jones' contract is a six-year deal for $ 15 million, including a $ 2.3 million signing bonus. Originally, the bonus was supposed to be $ 2.8 million, but it had to be reworked to stay within salary-cap guidelines. His '97 base salary drops from $ 730,000 to $ 525,000, but his cap number increases from $ 1.38 million to $ 1.56 million.
Len Pasquarelli, ESPN: Jones received a five-year, $12 million deal from the New York Jets, which includes a $3 million signing bonus. He'll have base salaries of $650,000 (2002), $1 million
(2003), $1.65 million (2004), $2.2 million (2005) and $3.5 million (2006). In 2003 and 2004, $500,000 worth of Jones' salaries are guaranteed

Peter King, SI.com: the Jets, should they choose to keep Law after this season, have an $11 million option bonus due Law in March. If they choose to pay Law that bonus -- highly questionable unless Law has a very good year, because he'll be 32 in February -- the final six years of his contract would then kick in -- at base salaries of $3 million in 2006, $4 million in 2007, and $6 million in each of 2008, 2009 and 2010. If the Jets choose not to pay Law the $11 million, he'll be a free agent next winter… Law can supplement his pay this year with a number of incentives. For example: For every game he's active on the 45-man roster this year, the Jets will pay him $62,500. If he's active for 16 games, that's an extra $1 million. If he plays 85 percent of the snaps on defense for the Jets, he'll earn an additional $500,000. Here's the biggie: He'll make an additional $4 million if he plays 95 percent of the defensive snaps and the Jets make the playoffs. As an illustration, if Law plays nickel back, is active every week and the Jets go 8-8, he'll make $3.5 million. If Law starts and plays all but a handful of plays -- possible, though not likely -- and the Jets make the playoffs, he'll make $8 million.

Rich Cimini, ESPN New York: Mangold signed a seven-year, $55 million contract... The contract includes $22.5 million in guarantees against injury. Only the $4 million signing bonus is fully guaranteed. He can earn $25 million over the first three years, according to league sources.
Mike Florio, PFT: To date, the only information that has surfaced relates to total value ($55 million over seven years), and cash guaranteed in the event of injury ($22.5 million). A league source tells us that the contract has an average value of $7.28 million over five years, which equates to a payout of $36.4 million, an average of $7.5 million over six years, which equates to $45 million, and an average of $7.725 million over seven years, which works out to be $54.075 million, nearly a million less than the initial reports.
Andrew Brandt, NFP: Mangold’s eight-year total deal is similar to Evans, worth a total of $57.4 million, with $54.075 in new money beyond what he was scheduled to make this year. Signing Bonus: $6.373 million Salary: $960,000
... Mangold has a 2011 bonus which may be either a supersede or an option bonus – the difference is technical – worth $9.725 million. The timing of the payment is similar to the way the first-round deals have beens structure this year, with the exercise period being “the first day of the League Year immediately following the 2010 League Year and ending the day after the 1st regular season game the Club has played in that same League Year”. Along with a salary of $2.26 next year, his 2011 earnings are close to $12 million. Thus, Mangold will have earned $19.32 million – assuming a 2011 season – in the next 16 months.
The $22 million in guaranteed money is for injury only... Mangold and his agents are comfortable with the risk that if the Jets release who they have called the best center in football over the next first three years of this deal – the usual time frame for any skill guarantees -- Mangold will enter the market after having made $7.3 million for one year ($4 million more than scheduled), $19 million for two or $22 million for three.
Brian McIntyre, MacsFootballBlog.com: Mangold renegotiated his one-year old contract with the Jets. According to a league source, Mangold received a $9.725 million signing bonus and his base salaries are now $2.26M (2011), $2.233M (2012), $2.51M (2013), $2.97M (2014), $4.8M (2015), $5.6M (2016) and $6.075 in 2017. Mangold also has a $3 million roster bonus in 2013, and reporting bonuses of $650,000 (2014), $2 million (2015) and $2.4 million in 2016 and 2017. Paul Domowitch, Philly Daily News: [The Jets g]ave a 6-year, $42 million deal, including $22 million guaranteed, to linebacker Calvin Pace, who had 6 1/2 sacks last season.
Mike Lombardi, NFP: saved $4.7 million on a restructured deal [in 2009].
Gary Myers, NY Daily News: Pace took a $1 million hit down to $3.105 this year. Next year, they reduced his base salary by $1.5 million to $3.085 million (which they guaranteed) and increased his roster bonus from $500,000 to $1 million. That means he will make $4.085 million instead of $5.085 million. Scott and Pace took cuts, but now are guaranteed of getting their money for the next two years.
Brian McIntyre, Yahoo Sports: Pace, the 32-year-old has just seven sacks over the last two seasons, including three in 1,005 snaps over 16 games in 2012, and is scheduled to earn $8.56 million in cash in the final year of his current contract. Among Pace's cash compensation in 2013 is a $2.5 million roster bonus that is due on March 14. Releasing Pace would free up $8.56 million in cap space.
Rich Cimini, ESPN: Pace signed 1 yr deal with #Jets -- 940k base + 65k signing bonus.
Darryl Slater, Newark Star-Ledger: The Jets re-signed him again in the offseason, to a two-year, $5 million deal with $1 million guaranteed, plus a base salary of $1.375 million this year.

Barry Wilner, Charleston Gazette: Pennington, the 18th overall selection and the third of New York's unprecedented four first-round picks, will get a $4.1 million signing bonus and a contract loaded with incentives. If he meets all of those incentives, he could earn as much as $23 million… The base contract is worth nearly $6.5 million.
Len Pasquarelli, ESPN: the Jets signed Pennington, the league's passing champion only two years earlier, to a seven-year extension. The deal included a signing bonus of $18 million, money that, whether or not Pennington never takes another snap in a game, is irrecoverable by the team. Counting the $2 million guaranteed roster bonus Pennington received on March 1 of this year, and his base salaries of $1 million each for the 2004 and 2005 seasons, the quarterback will have pocketed $22 million by the end of this year… Pennington is due a roster bonus of $3 million next March. And he isn't likely to be rehabilitated from his current injury, even if a second invasive surgery is somehow avoided. There is another $3 million in incentives in Pennington's contract, and his 2006 base salary is $6 million. His bases for the rest of the contract are $4 million (2007), $6 million (2008), $7 million (2009), $6.3 million (2010) and $10.172 million (2011). There is another roster bonus, this one for $4.3 million, due in the spring of 2010.

Jenny Vrentas, Newark Star-Ledger: the sides reached agreement on a three-year, $15 million deal with $9.5 million in guarantees. Pouha received a $3.5 million signing bonus, and his earnings for the first year -- a $900,000 base salary and a $100,000 workout bonus -- are fully guaranteed (a total of $4.5 million fully guaranteed at time of signing). His 2013 base salary of $4.9 million is guaranteed for injury only at the time of signing, and becomes fully guaranteed for injury, skill and cap if he is on the roster the third day of the 2013 league year.
The deal gets interesting in its third year. Pouha's base salary for 2014 is $900,000 (not guaranteed) plus a $100,000 workout bonus. Then, there is a $2 million roster bonus on the seventh day of the 2014 league year, but that amount can de-escalate by $1.5 if his playing time dips below 55 percent in 2013. He is also due a $2.5 million roster bonus if he's on the 53-man roster for the first game.

Mike Florio, PFT: Though it's been reported as a six-year, $36 million package, the contract negotiated by cornerback Darrelle Revis has a base value of six years and $32 million. And, as we understand it, that number reflects real money, with little or no fluff.
The six-year deal, which the Jets wanted to do, easily voids to a four-year deal, which the Jets previously didn't want to do. The deal automatically reduces to four years if in any of the first four seasons Revis participates in at least 35 percent of the defensive snaps. The four-year value is $16 million, with $11 million in guaranteed money (which includes the 2007 base salary, which technically isn't guaranteed but as a practical matter is always paid).
But the Jets can buy back the fifth and sixth years. For $5 million guaranteed in year five and $11 million guaranteed in year six the Jets can get back the final two seasons. If the Jets choose not to buy back years five and six, Revis hits the open market and the Jets will not apply the franchise tag or the transition tag. The year six number can reduce to $9 million and can increase to $15 million, as the result of a point system based primarily on playing time. Interestingly, interceptions are not a factor as to any aspect of the deal.
Mike Florio, PFT: here's the basic data on the Darrelle Revis deal: no signing bonus; 2010 base salary of $7.5 million; $18 million option bonus due on the first day year of the first league year after the 2010 league year ends (the language reflects the potential for a lockout); 2011 base salary of $7 million; 2012 base salary of $7.5 million; and 2013 base salary of $6 million. That part is simple. Deciphering the guaranteed money makes it more complex… Due to the 30-
percent rule and the reallocation rule, the two sides had to apply some creativity. Before the option is exercised, the deal carries $13.772 million in 2013 base salary guaranteed for skill and $13.772 million in 2012 and 2011 base salary guaranteed for injury. The pre-option bonus base salaries ($10.06 million in 2011, $11.894 million in 2012, and $13.772 million in 2013) reduce to the lower numbers after the option is paid. Following the exercise of the option, Revis has $6 million guaranteed for skill and $7.5 million guaranteed for injury.
Mike Florio, PFT: Revis will receive $39 million fully guaranteed on a five-year, $70 million contract. He’ll earn a base salary of $16 million in 2015, $17 million in 2016, $15 million in 2017, $11 million in 2018, and $11 million in 2019. All of those numbers are base salaries with the exception of 2017, which is split between a $2 million roster bonus due on the first day of the league year and a $13 million salary. The first two years are fully guaranteed at signing, along with $6 million in 2017.

Brian McIntyre, MacsFootballBlog.com: Sanchez received a $10.0125M guaranteed salary advance in March, which reduced his base salaries from 2010-13 to the league minimum. Through minimal playing-time incentives in 2009, Sanchez triggered a $5,547,500 escalation to his $395,000 base salary in 2010, with another $500,000 in base salary, presumably tied to playoff wins, added, as well. In 2011, Sanchez's $480,000 base salary has increased to $13.5 million dollars, his 2012 base salary of $565,000 increased to $8.5 million dollars, and his $660,000 base salary in 2013 is now $4 million dollars. Additional base salary escalators are available for 2011-13, as are playoff bonuses from 2010-13.
While Sanchez is unable to participate in the team's off-season workout program this off-season, he'll have some financial incentives to do so next off-season. Beginning in 2011, Sanchez can earn a $500,000 workout bonus in each of the final three years of his rookie contract. Also, by playing in over 60% of the snaps in 2009 (62.4%), and the Jets making the post-season in 2009, Sanchez's $500,000 roster bonus in 2012 is now worth $2.75 million dollars.
Andrew Brandt, NFP: The deal is structured without a signing bonus or roster bonus; rather $10M is in the form of a salary advance, a method teams try to use to allow for the possible forfeiture of money due to bad behavior. Sanchez and Broncos rookie Robert Ayers were the only first-round picks to agree to this structure. In addition to the salary advance, Sanchez has guaranteed salaries of $18M, bringing his total guarantee to $28M.
Aaron Wilson, PFT: New York Jets newly-minted first-round quarterback Mark Sanchez’s five-year contract carries a maximum value of $60 million, including $28 million in guaranteed money, a league source told us tonight. The fifth overall pick’s annual guaranteed money represents a 56-percent increase over the contract of Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey, last year’s No. 5 selection. And Sanchez’s $50.5 million core or base value of the deal is 53 percent higher than Dorsey’s, according to a source.
A former USC star, Sanchez is set to make $32.5 million over the first three years of the contract where Dorsey is due to make $33 million over the first five years of his contract. Dorsey signed a five-year deal with a maximum value of $51 million that included an option year and $22.5 million in guaranteed money, according to published reports. The $32.5 million Sanchez is due over the first three years also represents a higher figure than last year’s top overall pick, Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Jake Long, was due over the first three years of his deal, according to our source.
Sanchez’s contract also includes $9.5 million in escalator clauses.
Rich Cimini, NY Daily News: Former USC star Mark Sanchez hit the jackpot Wednesday with a five-year contract that includes $28 million in guarantees - a team record. The bare-bones amount of the deal is $44.5 million, although the true value, based on easily attainable incentives, is $50.5 million, sources said. The contract can max out at $60 million, but Sanchez would have to play at a Tom Brady/Peyton Manning level and lead the Jets to multiple Super Bowls to hit that plateau, sources said. Sanchez didn't receive a traditional signing bonus.
Peter King, SI: In the first four years of the contract, Sanchez will earn $42 million, assuming he plays a minimal percentage of the snaps.
Mike Florio, PFT: Sanchez’s $11.75 million base salary for 2012 has been converted to an $8 million signing bonus, a fully-guaranteed base salary of $3.25 million, and a $500,000 workout bonus… In 2013, Sanchez will receive a fully-guaranteed base salary of $8.25 million. In 2014, Sanchez is due to receive a $2 million roster bonus on the 15th day of the league year and a non-guaranteed $9 million base salary. In 2015, there’s another $1 million roster bonus due on the 15th day of the league year, plus a non-guaranteed base salary of $12.5 million. In 2016, Sanchez is due another $1 million roster bonus on the 15th day of the league yeaar, plus a base salary of $10.75 million. Workout bonuses of $500,000 apply in each year of the deal. The contract contains $10 million in potential escalators, based in part on Super Bowl appearances and/or victories.

PFT: it's a two-year extension to a contract that has three remaining years. He'll get $3 million in 2009, his prior base salary. Thereafter, it's a four-year, $21 million deal.
On the fifth day of the 2010 league year, Sheppard receives a $10 million option bonus. If Sheppard participate in at least 39 percent of the plays in 2009, Sheppard's salary escalates by $1.55 million per year for 2010 through 2013, making the four-year package after this season worth $27.2 million… If, in the end, he stays for all five years (and participates in at least 39 percent of the snaps this season), he'll make $30.2 million.
Rich Cimini, NY Daily News: The conditional pick in '10 can rise to a second-rounder, but only if he hits an 85% playing-time plateau AND receives the four-year extension. And if that does happen, the Jets would get a fifth-rounder back from the Eagles. If Sheppard makes 85%, but doesn't receive the extension, the Jets would owe a third-rounder to the Eagles and would recoup a fifth rounder.

The amount drops by $100,000 if he doesn’t participate in the balance of the offseason workout program, which likely means that his base salary will reduce to $1.65 million. Last year, Taylor walked away from millions in D.C. in order to avoid the offseason program. In 2011, Taylor’s base salary moves to $2.275 million, with $750,000 guaranteed. The guarantee voids if he has fewer than seven sacks in 2010. It increases to $1.25 million if Taylor has 10 sacks. The guarantee increases to $2 million if he has 12 sacks. There’s also a whopping $10 million roster bonus in 2011 based on playing time and individual performance levels. The payment, due on the fifth day of the 2011 league year

Mike Klis, Denver Post: Tebow's officially listed salary for 2013 is $2.58 million, but he is to collect only $1.055 million. The Jets don't have to pay this if they release him. The other $1.531 million goes to the Broncos. The Jets are stuck with this bill even if they dump Tebow.Mike Tannenbaum, the New York general manager at the time, was surprised to learn his team also needed to pay $5.06 million of prorated advance salary the Broncos had paid. The payment
was a deal breaker for a few hours until the Broncos and Jets agreed to split the difference of $2.53 million. The Broncos received $1 million last season and are due another $1.53 million from the Jets this year.
Brian McIntyre, Yahoo Sports: Denver received two mid-round draft choices (which were used on center Philip Blake in the fourth round and linebacker Danny Trevathan in the sixth round) from the Jets, who also agreed to repay $2.531 million of a salary advance that Tebow received from Denver in his rookie contract. The Jets are still on the hook for $1.531 million of that repayment, which will count against the team's salary cap in 2013. Since Tebow is not a vested veteran, he will be subject to waivers. Tebow has two seasons at base salaries of $1.055 million in 2013 and $895,000 in 2014, with large but likely unattainable base salary escalators available in the second season.
Brian McIntyre, Yahoo Sports: they agreed to repay the Broncos for a portion of a $6,277,500 salary advance that Tebow had received from Denver in 2011, an amount totaling $2,531,875. The Jets paid $1 million in 2012 and will pay $1,531,875 back over the course of the 17-week 2013 regular season after failing to trade the quarterback's contract to another club this offseason. When they released Tebow on April 30, the Jets basically ate the $1,531,875 this season.

AP: White turned down a comparable offer from the Bucs and signed a four-year $7.2 million deal with New York because he believes the Jets will provide a better chance to start… White, who made $750,000 last season, received a $1.3 million signing bonus and is slated to make $1 million in 2002, $1.25 million in 2003, $1.7 million in 2004 and $2 million in 2005. Of his 2003 salary, $250,000 is guaranteed and the pact includes annual playing-time bonuses that will net White an additional $500,000 if he's in on 60 percent or more of the Jets' defensive plays.
