Dear Friends of DanceSport,

Again, one year is over and we can confi rm that the year 2011 has been a good year for the new formed World DanceSport Federation.

Many of our wishes have become reality and this is something very important.

On the last Annual General Meeting of our Federation in Luxembourg in June 2011, we all accepted unanimously that the IDSF should be converted into the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF).

This has been just the fi rst step to consolidate our position as the most important DanceSport Federation worldwide for all kind of DanceSport disciplines. And this has become reality.

Our Federation, from June on, not represents only Latin and Standard, but also all other disciplines of DanceSport which are now totally included into the World DanceSport Federation.

We can speak about:

Latin ‒ StandardFreestyle - ShowdanceAcrobatic Rock’n RollBoogie- WoogieCountry and Line DanceBaton TwirlingWheelchair DancingOur Professional DivisionAnd very soon, Salsa, Hip-Hop and others.

All DanceSport athletes have finally a World body with a structure based on Sports principles and which comply, totally, with the IOC rules, including Anti-Doping.

I want to confirm that we are very proud to inform that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has already accepted all these changes and has continued to provide to the World DanceSport Federation, the same privileges we had before.

The World DanceSport Federation continues to be member of SportAccord, ARISF, IWGA, IMGA and is recognized by the IOC.

And I want to inform again that we are working very hard on some Games for all our Sport disciplines, like the World Artistic Games, the WDSF World DanceSport Games and we are part, as you know, of the World Games, Masters Games, the Asian Games and others.

Please let me confirm again, that on our Sport always excellence, friendship, fairness and respect for each other have to be present because these are the most important aspects of Olympism.

I wish to all of you, on behalf of the World DanceSport Federation, all the best for the coming year 2012. And of course, again, happiness and health and that all our wishes, as last year, become reality.

　ダンススポーツ会員の皆さんへ

　新しい年のご挨拶をさせていただくに当たり、まず昨年の新WDSFへの改革についてのお知らせをさせて頂きます。その改革は長年の願望であり、重要なことでした。　昨年6月にルクセンブルグで開催した総会において、世界ダンススポーツ連盟（WDSF）への変更を決定致しました。それは、世界的に多くのダンススポーツ活動を包含するための第一歩です。従来のスタンダードとラテン種目のみならず、全てのダンススポーツを包含しての活動をすることになります。

　それらは次のとおりです。

　　スタンダードとラテン　　フリースタイル（ショウダンス）　　ロックンロール　　ブギウギ　　カントリーウエスタン・ラインダンス　　バトントワリング　　車椅子ダンス　　プロデビジョン活動　　サルサ、ヒップホップ等

　全てのダンススポーツ選手は国際オリンピック委員会（IOC）の掲げるスポーツ精神やルールを尊ぶ組織に入らなければなりません。特にアンチドーピング活動は重要です。国際オリンピック委員会（IOC）は既にこれらの変更を支持し、今後の更なる活動に期待しています。IOC承認団体であるスポーツアコード、IOC公認国際競技団体連合、国際ワールドゲームズ協会、国際マスターズゲームズ協会にも継続して加盟しています。　この場をお借りして、いろいろな大会、例えば世界アーティスティックゲームズ（芸術スポーツ大会）、世界ダンススポーツゲームズ等もワールドゲームズやアジア大会等のように開催すべく努力していることをお伝えいたします。　私たちのダンススポーツはオリンピック精神に則り、常に気品、フレンドシップ、フェアー精神と尊厳を持って活動していることを確信しています。　最後に皆様のご多幸とご健勝を祈念し結びといたします。
