Sharing an identical footprint to the original 02R, the new 02R96 deliversimproved mic preamps and AD/DA conversion, higher sampling rates, complete surround sound management, and DAW control. In fact with morethan five times the processing power of its illustrious predecessor, thenew 02R96 is perhaps better thought of as a scaled-down DM2000 ratherthan an upgraded 02R.

Primarily aimed at commercial sound, music production and post-production, every aspect of the 02R96 is designed to serve today’sadvanced production needs. With an impressive feature set including 56mixing channels, and 8 buses and auxes, 02R96 also houses a huge range ofinternal effects and dynamics that drastically cut down the need for largeamounts of out-board gear. 4 internal effects processors may be usedsimultaneously at 96kHz and, like the DM2000, 02R96 provides everythingneeded for 5.1 surround processing, panning and monitoring (6.1 supportwill be available following a September 2003 software upgrade).

Flexible synchronisation options including full SMPTE timecode supportmake working to video in post facilities a simple task. And a remote layer(with presets for Pro Tools and Nuendo) provides total control over a hugerange of digital audio workstations.

The 02R96 is also well equipped to handle the varied and numerous inputsources typical of live sound applications and where more I/O is needed, the mixer is easily expandable via its cascade link.

For total production control, the DM2000 combines massiveprocessing power, comprehensive workstation control andpowerful surround sound facilities. With a huge I/Ocapability and 96 mixing channels, it’s equipped to handlemost medium to large-scale recording, post and broadcastapplications. High quality mic preamps, followed by pristine24-bit/96kHz AD conversion translates audio flawlessly intothe digital domain where full surround processing facilities(including multiple stem mix monitoring), up to 8simultaneous 32-bit/96kHz on-board effects and anextensive dynamics section are provided, with flexiblesignal routing to take the audio wherever it is needed.

Designed to be the nerve centre of any audio installation, 4remote layers combine with a full complement of auto mix, transport, locate, track arming and user defined keys toensure that virtually any other audio hardware / softwarewith a remote port can be controlled from the DM2000control surface. And with automation and scene control, theDM2000 can be controlled externally.

The DM2000’s real I/O versatility is in the form of 6 Mini-YGDAI, 24-bit/96kHz-compatible expansion slots whichaccommodate a comprehensive range of analogue anddigital formats.
