In an effort to promote community service & help our staff maintain the garden, anybody can come help weed for 1.5 hours in exchange for a nutritious meal. A great way to learn about gardening & socialize with fellow community members. Kids, adults, locals, visitors--all are welcome. Take a night off from cooking and volunteer with us! The "Stay Together, Play Together" Labor Day Safari has a little bit of everything and some things the Easter Jeep Safari doesn’t offer because of its size. Trails are limited to 25 vehicles, making them smaller and the entire event is limited to 150 vehicles. This question will be explored as we join National Park Ranger, Scott Chandler, in a discussion about our wild connection. We will explore how animals effect our minds & lives! Sep 11-13 Blazer Bash- Test your vehicle against demanding technical challenges, and measure your driving skills on the world-class rock-crawling trails in the middle of awe-inspiring scenery. For info: blazerbash.com Sep 14-19 Full-Size Invasion- made up to encourage people to get their fullsize trucks & 4x4s off-road into the great outdoors. Cycling Teams & individual groups use the event to inspire their fundraising for large & small foundations making a difference in cancer treatments & survivorship. Sep 25 Spit Love - 6pm at Star Hall, 159 E Center St. Spit Love is a poetry slam featuring LGBTQ+ artists exploring love, joy, heartbreak, and all kinds of human connection from queer perspectives. We will be live streaming Spit Love this year, please see the Moab Pride facebook page for more information. Masks and social distancing will be required of all in-person attendees. Sep 26 National Parks Fee Free Day-The Southeast Utah Group of national parks (Arches and Canyonlands national parks, Hovenweep and Natural Bridges national monuments) is joining national parks across the country in waiving entrance fees as a way to encourage people to get outdoors & spend time with their friends & family in the national parks this year. (This fee-free opportunity applies to entrance fees only and does not affect fees for camping, backcountry reservations, tours, or other special uses.) Sep 26 Moth Ball - 5:30pm Swanny Park The Moth Ball is an all ages, alcohol free, and family-friendly dance party featuring live drag performances. Due to COVID-19, we are asking that people from outside of Moab and the surrounding area please not attend 2020 Moab Pride. Pride welcomes everyone who comes with love & respect, but we ask that people please also respect the health needs of our community -- we look forward to seeing everyone in future years!
