There will be some variance to the previous fuel economy and emissions as some elements of the tests have altered i.e., same vehicle might have different reported fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) charged on new passenger vehicles (M1) is based on their engine's CO2 emissions* (expressed in grammes per kilometre (g/km)). *CO2 emissions are measured according to the technical requirements and specifications of the European

Regulations (EC) 715/2007 and (EC) 692/2008 as last amended.

If a car's list price is over £40,000 (including VAT and factory fitted options) at first registration, the customer will pay an additional VED rate (currently £310) for five years after the end of the first registration (in addition to the standard £140 VED charge per year).
