Why use TopDownWay® instead of traditional containment systems?Demolish at great heights in a city centre has one fundamental requirement: safety. Safety for those walking the streets, safety for surrounding buildings, nearby roads, commercial activities and for operators. TopDownWay® guarantees the five safety levels because it is an intelligent system that keeps inside everything the demolition produces (glass, debris, rubble, noise, dust and vibrations) and isolates the skyscraper from the surrounding environment.TopDownWay® protects the exterior from the interior, but also the interior from the exterior: the operators work in safe conditions even when they are located at a certain height.TopDownWay® has EC certification and has passed all safety and compliance tests.

TopDownWay® ensures there is no impact on the environment or the surrounding buildings. This means 100% protection from debris, dust, noise, vaporized water and vibrations. Perfect adherence between the platform and the skyscaper; no gaps through which rubble or debris can escape 100% protection is guaranteed.
VISIBILITy
The demolition of a high rise building does not go un-noticed, however, with the, TopDownWay® we eliminate the need to completely enclose the entire building that creates an eyesore. With our system, only the top three floors are enclosed, and such enclosure may be used for advertisement space, even with the use of LED’s.
HOW IS IT ASSEMBLED?
It is a self-descending, steel, grid structure. It works by hydraulic principles and is controlled by an automated system that monitors movements and safety. Assembly and dismantling is completely safe for both operators and the surrounding environment. All machine parts are assembled on the ground: the orange-coloured load-bearing parts are mounted directly on the top of the skyscraper and the bridge modules are suspended from load-bearing parts (white and red coloured). A suitably sized construction crane hoists equipment up to high levels. The machine is dismantled on the ground once the entire skyscraper has been demolished.
HOW DOES IT WORk?
TopDownWay® is a modular machine; its shape can be adapted to any skyscraper to be demolished. This system enables work, stripping out, floor demolition and removal of debris, to be carried out on all three floors occupied at the same time.As work proceeds, the platform descends in a controlled manner and positions itself on the next floor down.The skyscraper is demolished floor by floor, until ground level is reached. Once on the ground, TopDownWay® is dismantled.
