SCHOOL CLOSURE: INFORMATION FOR PARENTS In the event of school closure due to bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances we will do our best to notify parents and carers as soon as possible at the start of the day via email & text through PMX ParentMail. If you are registered please remember to update your details, such as new mobile phone numbers, by logging onto your account and changing this information. In the event that we are unable to send out a PMX ParentMail notification school closures will be updat- ed on the Essex County Council website mentioned below. ECC School Closure Notification System This allows parents to keep up-to-date about unplanned school closures (due to bad weather for example) faster and more effectively via the internet. Notifications from schools are added to a live feed on the emergency school closures page on the council s website. Please click on this link to go directly to the page: http://www.essex.gov.uk/education-schools/schools/dates/pages/emergencyschool- closures.aspx or copy and paste it into your browser. This feed will continue to update as notifications of school closures are received. The page will refresh at 6pm each evening and closure lists for the next day will then go live. Local radio stations will continue to support local schools in getting vital school closure messages out in as many ways as possible, including signposting listeners to the school closures page on the councils website. If you need to respond to a Parent mail, for example to confirm menu choices for school trips or participation in sporting events, please send an email to ad- [email protected] EARLY YEARS NATIVITY Many thanks for your kind donations at the Early Years Nativity perfor- mance. £105.86 was collected for WWF. CAROL CONCERT Thank you to everyone who attended our Christmas Carol Concert on Wednesday 11 December and enjoyed the perfor- mances by our choir, orchestra and steel band (as well as the turkey rolls and mulled wine!). £72.24 was collected for WWF. CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY The children looked fantastic in all their Christmas jumpers! We collect- ed £355.10 for Save the Children. SCHOOL TIMES Please note the main gates open at 8.40am. Any children on the premises before 8.40am need to either attend Breakfast Club or a School Club. Breakfast Club opens at 7.45am. The reception childrens day ends at 3.05pm, KS1 chil- dren at 3.10pm and KS2 at 3.15pm. The school gates will open at 2.50pm. Children attending Breakfast Club must be registered in the hall by 8.20am if they would like breakfast. We would like to remind you that any food brought into school must be nut free. NUT FREE SCHOOL Please note we are a nut free school. The Nut Awareness policy is displayed on our website which can be found under policies w.lyonshall.essex.sch.uk.   • Photography at Events Please note that we are happy for you to take photographs at school events such as assemblies for home and family use but we would like to request that the recordings/pictures DO NOT get posted to social media sites under any circum-stances. We would also request that photographs are not taken away from the school premises, eg class trips, sporting events and swimming lessons.     PE KITS Could you please ensure the children have their PE kit in school at all times, including warm clothing for outdoor PE.

    PARKING We would be grateful if when dropping and col-lecting children from school that we are mindful of our residents and neighbours where we are parking, including the Fairview Estate. The park-ing restrictions on the yellow lines are in place from 8—9.30 and 2.30—4.00pm everyday. Please do not block our residents driveways or car park areas.

    CHILDREN’S MEDICINE If you child requires Calpol while in school, please could you bring a bottle into the school office and complete a blue form.

    FLU VACCINATIONS If your child did not receive a flu vaccination in school on 4 December and you would like them to have one, Essex Partnership University Trust- Immunisation Service are holding further ses-sions in Dunmow on 17 December and 13 Janu-ary. If you would like to book an appointment for your child, please contact them on 01371 877417.

    GUITAR LESSONS For those children who have guitar lessons please note that Mr Hayes will be making missed lessons up on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings next week. Please can your child bring in their guitar on both days to ensure that they have the correct amount of lessons (10 per term) before the end of this term.
