Welcome to the Rebel Family!
We’re so excited about your college career at UNLV, and we’re here to get you started on the right path. This handbook contains a list of important university policies that you will need to review. It also includes the 2020 - 2021 academic calendar, a map of campus, and a list of frequently used numbers for your future reference.
It’s time to start thinking about what you want to accomplish at UNLV. And we’ll be with you every step of the way. We can’t wait to see all that you achieve at UNLV on your way to graduation.

Complete Online Pre-Orientation in WebCampusAll new students are required to complete this course. Log into your account at it.unlv.edu/webcampus to access the course. The course will teach you about the campus resources and involvement opportunities available to you at UNLV. You will also have access to this information throughout your first academic year, in case you need to revisit any topics.
The course consists of the following modules:
Participate in Virtual Info SessionsVisit unlv.edu/orientation/participate to check out the virtual info sessions available this summer. You’ll be able to participate in workshops, listen to presentations, attend Q&A sessions, make connections with fellow students, and much more.
Familiarize Yourself with MyUNLVLog in to your account at my.unlv.nevada.edu to resolve any to-do list items, review important account notifications, and finalize your class schedule.
Set Up Your ACE AccountYou’ll receive an email to your personal email account with instructions on how to set up your ACE account. After you have enrolled in classes, this account will grant you access to WebCampus, eduroam Wi-Fi, computer labs, printing, website publishing, file storage, and more. Visit it.unlv.edu/ace for more information.
Activate Your Rebelmail Follow the steps online at it.unlv.edu/rebelmail to activate your student email. Using your Rebelmail account is mandatory, as it is the university’s official means of communicating with you. Your Rebelmail account includes the G Suite, giving you access to Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, and unlimited storage on Google Drive.
Create Your RebelCardThe RebelCard is your official UNLV ID. It can be used at the library and many other facilities on campus. You can also deposit money to your card called RebelCash, which can be used at participating locations on and off campus. Create your RebelCard online today. unlv.edu/rebelcard/photo

Purchase a Parking PermitWhether you are a commuter or living on campus year-round, there are different permits available to meet your needs. Purchase your parking permit online at unlv.edu/parking.
Understand Your Tuition & Payment OptionsView your account balance, pay your tuition and fees, learn about deadlines, or sign up for a monthly payment plan with your MyUNLV account at my.unlv.nevada.edu. Visit unlv.edu/cashiering/pay to review payment options. Be sure to pay your tuition and fees before the start of the semester to avoid late fees.

Purchase Your TextbooksOnce you have registered for classes, your My Custom Textbook List will be available through a link in your MyUNLV Enrollment tile at myunlv.nevada.edu. You can choose between new or used books, and either buy or rent books if available.

The Clery ActUniversity Police Services maintains a safe and secure educational environment. They are responsible for providing a comprehensive report regarding the campus public safety environment, including the incidence of crime. Visit unlv.edu/police/report to view the report.

Academic PoliciesAll new UNLV students are responsible for reviewing and abiding by the academic policies, as stated in the current academic catalog. View a complete list of these policies at catalog.unlv.edu.
Student Rights to Privacy: FERPAThe Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that protects student records privacy and disclosure rights that begins when a student is admitted to UNLV. In compliance with FERPA, UNLV does not disclose personally identifiable information contained in student education records, except authorized by law. Examples include, but are not limited to, advising notes, attendance, class schedules, financial records, grades, and transcripts. Understand your privacy rights at unlv.edu/registrar/ferpa.
Students may choose to allow a third party to access their educational record (i.e., a parent or legal guardian). You can locate the FERPA Third Party Release Authorization through your MyUNLV account at my.unlv.nevada.edu in your Student Center. You can also add, edit, and delete your FERPA Authorization from your Student Center.
Title IX ComplianceTitle IX is a federal law that prohibits discrimination based on sex in educational programs and activities that receive federal financial assistance. Examples of programs and activities that are subject to Title IX include admissions, recruitment, financial aid, academic programs, athletics, housing, and employment. Title IX also protects students from sexual harassment, which includes acts of sexual violence. Learn more at unlv.edu/compliance/titleIX.
Student Conduct CodeThe Student Conduct Code and the Student Academic Misconduct Policy are designed to promote awareness of student rights and responsibilities, as well as establish accountability for student choices. These policies apply to every UNLV student when they choose to accept admission to the university.
