will involve helping BSR Staff and leaders during evacu-

ations, you also get to wear the incredibly fashionable

fire warden helmet during an evacuation! ;) If you are

can collate the names and organise some training.

We will be in contact by the end of this week to let you know how to access

your room condition report and when they need to be completed.

Deakin Security is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can be contacted on 1800 062 579 or via the SAFEZONE app. There is a resident specific Security Officer on duty from 7pm to 7am every night. If your require a security escort to your car or any location on campus, this can be arranged by contacting security.

There will be a free BBQ dinner on Thursday 12thNovember at 6:30pm on the MB BBQ Deck. It would be great to see you all there and meet other T3 resi-dents.

Burwood Student Accommodation project

Dear BSV Residential Students Thank you for your continued patience during the construction of the new student resi-dence. The following information outlines works scheduled for the next fortnight ending 21st November: WORKS SCHEDULED FOR WEEK AHEAD

- Bulk excavation - Backfilling service trenches

IMPACTING ACTIVITES RELATED TO CONSRUCTION WORKS - Machinery operating IMPACTING ACTIVITES RELATED DEAKIN / SURROUNDING STREETS - Access to cleaners shed to be closed this week, access to be reinstated for Monday 16th November - Plant floats, offsite disposal of materials, importation of onsite materials all via Uganda St - Proposal to modify Uganda St traffic roundabout: ADCO to propose modified solution for large vehicle access. IMPACTING ACTIVITES ON ENVIRONMENT / SAFETY / NEIBOURING PROPERTIES

- Dust due to site works: water truck for dust mitigation

SITE WORKING HOURS AND NUMBERS ON SITE Up to 10 workers on site daily expected over coming fortnight - 7am – 5:00pm Mon ‐ Fri - Saturday 8am – 2 pm

Study Room Even though exams are over, room EA 2.01 continues to be available as a quiet study space exclusive for residential students use. I encourage you to have a wander across and consider utilizing this room as an alternate to the library (please see map attached). For after-hours access please request a security escort to and from EA2.01 study room as you need. Thoughts/ Concerns/ feedback Please ensure you contact your RL with any questions or concerns you may have so they can collate and bring to weekly RL meetings so we can together come up with specific ac-tions as needed. Again, if you observe a specific issue regarding any safety/ security with our current build-ings or the new build work site, please do contact reception immediately so we can take ac-tion. While we will minimise the disruption as much as possible, thank you again for your pa-tience and understanding during project works. INGREDIENTS:

*100g (1/2 cup, firmly packed)

*dark brown sugar

*125ml (1/2 cup) thickened

cream

*200g Anzac biscuits, broken in-

to small pieces

*2 tablespoons shredded coco-

nut, toasted

*8 scoops vanilla ice-cream

METHOD

Step 1

Place the sugar and cream in a saucepan over low heat. Cook, stirring,

for 5 minutes or until the sugar dissolves and the sauce thickens slight-

ly. Keep warm.

Step 2

Meanwhile, line a tray with baking paper. Process the biscuits in a food

processor until coarsely crushed. Transfer to a shallow bowl. Add the

coconut and stir to combine.

Step 3

Place 1 scoop of ice-cream in the biscuit mixture and roll to coat. Place

on lined tray and freeze while coating remaining balls. Repeat with the

remaining ice-cream and biscuit mixture.

Step 4

Divide the ice-cream balls among serving bowls and pour over the hot

caramel sauce.
