May 2019 Newsleer As part of this year’s NESC Assessment Evening, both cadets and leaders took part in the assessment of potenal new recruits to the NESC scheme. We have held three assessment evenings so far for new recruits, during which we have seen 100 new potenal cadets. The successful cadets will join the NESC family in September. During the assessment evenings, we completed several tasks including uniform administraon, ID badges and veng, followed by a fun, interacve session run by DCI Julie Mead and Ann-Marie Lawson. These sessions saw new recruits working as a team to repopulate an imaginary planet. During this exercise, we observed the group deliberaon on who should have a place on a new planet, which is a task that can oſten bring up some prejudices.
