113thWingmembersjoinedeffortstogivebacktotheirlocalcommunitythroughtheAngelTreeProjectDec.15.Theeventin-vitedunderprivilegedfamiliesfromJ.P.RyonElementarySchooltocometogetherforahotmeal,funactivitiesandpresentsforthechildren.Volunteersanddonatorsfromthewingworkedhardand

soughttohelpthosewhoinneedduringtheholidayswhilealsogivingthecommunityanopportunitytogettoknowtheunitbet-ter.Atotalof19childrenfromeightfamiliesattendedtheevent.Giftsandfundswereraisedinternallythroughdonationsfrommembersofthe113thMaintenanceGroup,113thOperationsGroupand121stFighterSquadron.“Wedidthiseventtomakeafewfamilies,especiallythe

kids,livesalittlebitmorehappy,”saidMasterSgt.ScottWar-ner,113thMaintenanceSquadronelectricalandenvironmentalsystemscraftsman.“Wealsodidthiseventtolessentheburdenontheparentsbyprovidinganicehotmealandafewgiftsfortheholidays.Thiskindofeventallowstheunittomeetsomeof

thecommunityaswellasgivingthecommunityachancetoaskquestionsaboutwhoweareandwhatwedoforthem.”Afteramealtogether,thechildrenwereabletoenjoyavisit

fromSantaClaus,thankstothevolunteers,whothenpassedapresentouttoeachchildandsenthomepresentswiththeparentstobeopenedonChristmasmorning.“Theschoolstaffandparentswerethankfulandenjoyed

watchingtheirchildrengetsomethingtheymightnototherwiseget,”saidWarner.“Theyalsoseemedtobeverygraciousthatwetookthetimetoprovideapersonalevent;notjusthandthemabagoftoysandleave.Thechildren’sfaceslitupwhenweopenedthecurtainstorevealSanta;theyshowedusallimmensegrati-tude.”The201stFighterSquadronhassuccessfullyconductedthe

ProjectAngelTreeinthepast,butnowtheeventismorepersonalanddriventobetterconnectwiththecommunitywiththemealandentertainment.Membersfromthewinghopetocontinuethetraditionduringnextyear’sholidayseason.

ChildrenfromJ.P.RyonElementarySchoolsitwithSantaafterreceivingpresentsduringtheProjectAngelTreeeventDec.15.Membersfromthe113thWingdonatedgiftsorfundsinsupportoftheeventtohelpcommunityfamilymembersduringtheholi-dayseason.

Volunteersfromthe113thWingposeattheProjectAngelTreeeventatJ.P.RyonElementarySchoolDec.15.Membersfromthewingraisedfundstoprovideadinnerandgiftstounderprivilegedfamiliesfromtheschooltoensurethecommunitymemberswouldhaveabetterholidayseasonandbetterrelationshipwiththeunit.

The action line can be used to express con-structive points of view on the policies and procedures of the wing, as well as discuss safety and security issues. The goal is to pro-vide you with an accurate, timely response.

Airmen should use this tool after coordinat-ing problems or concerns with supervisors, first sergeants or commanders. If you’re not satisfied with the response or are unable to resolve the issue, e-mail the action line at [email protected].
