Composer HE LimitationsComposer HE Limitations

Composer HE does not provide all the functionality of the Professional version which is used by the Control4 Dealer/Installer

The customer will need to contact their authorized Control4 Dealer when they want to do the following:– Create a new Control4 system– Add devices to their system (or remove devices)– Create or edit drivers for 3rd-party devices– Install updates to system software

You can do some of these things for the customer via a Remote 4Sight connection; if you wish to.

Customer SupportCustomer Support

Control4 does not provide an end-user Support option– As with other aspects pertaining to the ongoing support of the Control4

system, we refer all support questions to the customer’s Dealer of Record.

Most of you already use business practices which set/manage customer expectations. If not, you might consider the following suggestions:

– Make sure the customer understands what is “covered” and what isn’t covered in the purchase price of their system

– Make a backup copy of the working Control4 system project on 2 CDs – one to be left with the customer and one for your use in the event you’re called upon to recover a system

– Provide (and bill for) some basic training about Composer, Control4, and the “do’s and don’ts”

– Structure a support agreement for optional future support – including rate structures for both remote and on-site work

Composer Home Edition can be used as a selling tool for future system elements

– Consider some “package” add-ons – Sell additional lighting control– Sell security system integration– Sell additional keypads and touch panels
