John C. Kornblum:

John C. Kornblum is one of the most distinguished and suc-

cessful US diplomats of recent decades. Since the 1960s, he has

numbered among the most important advisers on US foreign

policy and has represented the US in Germany several times,

most recently as US Ambassador in Berlin. As permanent envoy

to NATO and the OECD, Kornblum has helped to shape relations

between Europe and the USA. Under the Clinton administra-

tion, he was involved in the resolution of the Bosnian confl ict

and in defi ning a new European security policy. Kornblum

has received many awards for his work and is one of the most

sought-after experts on Transatlantic aff airs.

Dieter Kronzucker is one of the most important TV jour-

nalists and authors in Germany. A philosophy graduate, he

worked as a news correspondent in countries all over the

world, including Spain, Portugual, North America, several

Asian and Latin American countries and the USA. He also

presented the political news series Weltspiegel for German

TV channel ARD. For the ZDF channel, he created the format

of heute-journal, the most successful German TV news pro-

gramme, before leaving to work for Sat1 in 1991. In 2004,

he launched his own documentary series, Kronzuckers

Kosmos, on N24. Until 2007, he also lectured as professor

for television journalism and documentary reporting at

the University for Film and Television in Munich. Dieter

Kornzucker is an acknowledged expert on US politics.
