BCA Spring Clean-Up

We are excited for your second Brandermill Spring Cleanup event next Saturday andSunday, April 27-28, at the parking lot of North Beach Pool (3100 North Beach Road) from10 am to 5 pm. We will provide large containers for disposal of all sorts of items like yarddebris, appliances, electronics and furniture. We will also have the support of Junk Kingsto dispose of all metal. Melendez Tree and Garden Service will have brown mulch ready forpurchase for $37.00 per cubic yard. Cash only payment accepted.

Too much stuff to carry or have no means of transportation? Schedule an appointment forpick up with Dos Amigos Lawn Care at 804-677-2767 or Melendez Tree and GardenService at 804-507-3946.

We will also have the support of C.A.R.E. for you to donate all dog related caring items.

The Brandermill Buy Nothing Group will be here with a special event called "Junk in theTrunk". Members will creatively show the items that they are giving away in the back oftheir vehicles. Be sure to make a quick stop to spend some time with your neighbors.

This event is open to all members in Good Standing. Be sure to bring your ID for addressverification at the entrance. Items that are not accepted at this event are gas, propane,pesticides, paint, ammo, oils and other flammable items.

Boating and Locked Storage Services Update

Boating and Locked Storage notices have beensent out through the mail. Be sure to stop bythe BCA office to pick up the 2019 BCASticker. The BCA office operation hours are

Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. If our operationhours do not fit your schedule, please contactthe office to schedule an appointment. Renewalterm ends May 15. All boats without currentsticker will be removed on May 16.A new rental agreement will be required for allusers with no current boat information.

LAUGH YOUR WAY TO GOOD HEALTH

The Brandermill Woman’s Club welcomes HeatherUmberger to speak at its April 17 meeting. Her program willprovide useful and interesting wellness information, plus agood deal of fun! Laughter Yoga was a profound ideadeveloped by a medical doctor from India. The concept hasspread across 100 countries and spawned Laughter Clubsworldwide. Ms. Umberger, a Laughter Yoga teacher, has aB.S. in Psychology, and a M.S. in Rehabilitation

Counseling. As a Wellness Practitioner, she incorporatesmultiple disciplines in helping clients of all ages and stagesof life. Her program will include participation in a LaughterYoga session. A fun experience guaranteed to boost thespirits.

The club meets the third Wednesday of each month fromSeptember through April at the Woodlake United MethodistChurch, 15640 Hampton Park Drive. There is a social meetand greet at 9:30 a.m. The business meeting from 10 to10:30 is followed by the featured speaker. All ladies arewelcome. Residency in Brandermill is not a requirement tojoin. In addition to the monthly meeting, the organizationsponsors over 15 activities for the members with the goal toencourage friendships and social activities. There isabsolutely something for everyone, from Book Clubs,Cards, Day Trips, Cooking, Dominos, Mahjong, Quilting,Lunch Bunch and Walking. The purpose of the 42-year-old club has always been to promote a common interest incivic, cultural, educational and social welfare within the community. Last year they raisedfunds for Thrive Outreach Network and Sylvia’s Sisters. Two scholarships were awarded tograduating high school seniors. Brandermill Regional Men's Club

The Brandermill Region Men’s Club is proud to announce theguest speaker for our May 2 meeting is Chris Accashian, CEO ofSt. Francis Medical Center. Chris will inform us about a plannedexpansion at St. Francis Medical Center. Meetings are held atThe Brandermill Church, 4500 Millridge Parkway, on the firstThursday of every month (July and August excluded). Coffee anddonuts are offered at 9:15 am with a guest speaker at 10:00am. Non-members are always welcome.

Chesterfield County Updates

Chesterfield County FREE Vegetative Waste Service for Storm Outcomes

Chesterfield County will waive vegetative debris fees at both the Northern and SouthernArea Convenience Centers through Sunday, April 28, giving residents time to cleanup fromMonday’s storms.

Please use the following guidelines:

No vegetative debris larger than 16 inches in diameter and/or 8 feet long will beaccepted.Bagged leaves and bagged or loose wood chips are to be disposed of in themunicipal solid waste containers at the convenience centers.Specific areas within the convenience centers are designated for vegetative debris(not bagged).

Both convenience centers will operate on normal business hours except for being closedSunday, April 21 in observance of the Easter holiday. Locations and hours:

Northern Area Convenience Center 3200 Warbro Road, Midlothian Friday-Tuesday, 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Closed Wednesday-Thursday

Southern Area Convenience Center 6700 Landfill Drive, Chester Thursday-Monday, 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Closed Tuesday-Wednesday

Rabies Clinic Vaccination thisSaturday, Don't miss it!

The Chesterfield Health Department andChesterfield County Animal Services will

hold a rabies clinic from 1-3 p.m. onSaturday, April 20 at the Chesterfield

County Fairgrounds, 10300 CourthouseRoad. Vaccinations are $10, cash only,and no reservation is required. Cats and

dogs are both welcome, but cats must bein a carrier and dogs must be leashed.

Chesterfield LIVE!

The first-ever Chesterfield LIVE! musicfestival will be Saturday, May 25. Thisfree, family-friendly musical event

hosted by Chesterfield County, inpartnership with the RichmondSymphony and the ChesterfieldChamber of Commerce will feature fourpremiere musical acts, all performingunder the Symphony’s iconic “Big Tent.”

In addition to musical entertainment,there will be a children’s play area withinflatables, local vendors, a variety oflocal food trucks and Chesterfield’s own,Steam Bell Beer Works, will be pouringlocal brews for purchase. Bring yourfamily, friends and coworkers to kick offthe summer in Chesterfield!

Gates open at 2:30 p.m. No pets, outside food or drinks orglassware will be allowed. Blankets and lawn chairs arerecommended.

Volunteers Needed

The Red Cross is seeking volunteers for their “Soundthe Alarm” event on April 27 in Chester. If you are notfamiliar with “Sound the Alarm”, it is an initiativewhere you will canvas a neighborhood ensuringresidents have proper, working smoke alarms.
