Today, we expand our circle of influence further into the USA, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. e following missions are represented in the gallery area: Baja Presbyterian Missions has been actively involved in developing Presbyterian missions, congregations, and churches in Baja California for 50 years. Generous donations have made it possible to provide building projects, Bibles, children’s Sunday school materials, and salary supplements for pastors of smaller churches. We are currently working with BPM to plan a one- day building project for Spring 2019… hope you can join us. Since 1994, RB Community missionary Dr. David “Chappy” Walden, the founder of Missions on the Edge (MOTE USA) has been using relational evangelism to reach men, women, and children living “on the edge” – those that are marginalized. MOTE initiated the first outreach to prisoners with RB Community’s assistance to serve American speaking men and women in Mexico’s most violent prisons in Baja. MOTE Missions has trained over 300 pastors and church leaders who are serving in the United States, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Panama, and Puerto Rico. Vida Outreach co-founders Mike and Becky Spitz are RB Community missionaries who are committed to building grass-roots community development projects in underserved areas of Baja California, Mexico. Vida programs transform communities through hunger relief, church development, and education. Mission funds are used to feed struggling families, provide breakfast for children before school, student sponsorships, and school supplies. It is appropriate that our very own ReSale Shop is also represented in the gallery. You may not be aware that all of the proceeds (aſter expenses) from the Resale Shop go to support missions of the church. By bringing your gently used clothing, toys, furniture, and houseware items to the ReSale Shop you are giving to RB Community supported missions. Special Year-End GivingHave you been prayerfully considering a special year-end gift? Last week’s newsletter explainedthat we have a Christmas Challenge Goal of $50,000 for special gifts toward missions. We are also praying that our December donations exceed last year, and provide more than $350,000 toward the general ministry budget.

Now is a great time to think about a special year-end gift, or using a required minimum distribution from IRAs or stock donation. If you would like further information, see the church’s webpage under the “give” tab, or contact our Business Manager, Tony Cook, at [email protected] or 858.487.0811 x212.

Missions ChallengeThis Advent Season, our focus is on Missions. We are asking people to prayerfully consider donateing beyond their normal support of the church’s operations with a special financial blessing towards missions. We’re praying for $50,000. That is a big number, but we have seen the generosity of our faith family in action. To put things in perspective, our goal for December towards the general fund is $350,000. This $50,000 gift to the Lord, a most generous offering unto the work in missions we do here, is an extra offering to end our year. There are specially marked golden envelopes spread across our campus; put your extra gift to God in them and turn them into the office, or mail them in, or put them in the offering plate.
