Divine Mercy Mass with Bishop Morlino at St. Patrick Church

Sunday, April 23rd is Divine Mercy Sunday!

To celebrate, we will offer the sacrament of

reconciliation from 1-2:40 pm with Mass at 3 pm

with Bishop Robert Morlino presiding. The Knights

of Columbus will lead the Divine Mercy Chaplet at

1, 1:30, 2, and 2:30. There will be adoration of the

Blessed Sacrament beginning at one with

benediction at 2:35. A

plenary indulgence is

given to anyone who

validly receives the

sacrament of

reconciliation on

Divine Mercy Sunday

when the normal

conditions for an

indulgence are met.

Thank You For A Beautiful Easter.

A big THANK YOU to all who made our Triduum and Easter services so special this year.

The Loft Choir and the Sanctuary Choir, under the direction of Laura Schuler, deserve a special “thanks” for leading us in song on Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday morning. They are all dedicated ministers of music. I am very apprecia-tive for all the time you give to our parish.

To the many Ministers who lectured, distributed Communion, served, greeted, ushered and to the liturgy coordinators, who made my job a little easier by helping to set-up each Mass; I do appreciate you being great examples of service.

To those who distributed flowers to the approximately 42 members of our parish who are homebound and to Sister Ruth and Sharlet Collins, the coordinators, Thank You. This ministry truly illustrates the message of Christ.

Finally, my gratitude goes out to the members of the Liturgy Committee, led by Jan Macek and Jan Royce and assisted by Jim and Ann Allen; along with all those who worked so hard to make our environment so beautiful and reflective of the season.

I truly believe our Parish is blest by the many who volunteer.

Sunday of Divine Mercy

"Put your finger here and see my hands, and bring your hand and put it into my side, and do not be unbelieving, but believe." Thomas answered and said to him, "My Lord and my God!" Jesus said to him, "Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed." - Jn 20:27b-29 ************************************************************** "Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, 'Peace be with you.'" This greeting from the resurrected Christ must have been a profound one for the disciples. They were living behind locked doors "for fear of the Jews," which really meant for fear of their own lives. They had seen what happened to Jesus and didn't want to face the same fate. Imagine the paralysis of this fear, keeping them locked inside a prison of their own making. But even the walls and the locks could not keep Jesus out! He came "although the doors were locked" and brought them a message of peace. And then their fear turned to gladness for they "rejoiced when they saw the Lord." This transformation from sadness to joy, from fear to peace was not just a gift for these first disciples. It is a gift for all of the followers of the Lord, ourselves included! When we are afraid of what might happen in our lives, where we are trapped or paralyzed by the burdens of our own habitual sins, Jesus wants to step in and offer us peace. This is what we celebrate today on this feast of the mercy of Christ. His love and peace--the gift of his mercy--is meant for all of us, weak, sinful, and scared though we may be. And we who receive this great gift of mercy from the Lord are also called to be merciful to others. We are called to be peacemakers and to forgive others as we have been forgiven. Our celebration of Divine Mercy need not stop at the doors of our own hearts. We can seek ways to be ministers of God's mercy to others, reaching out with the love of God, bringing comfort and consolation to those who need it most.

Would You Like A Pastoral Visit?

REMINDER: If you, a family member or someone you know

is confined or hospitalized and would benefit from a pastoral

visit, please contact your parish office and let them know.

Staff does not always know of hospital admissions for a

variety of reasons and often has no way of knowing of other

situations in which a parish contact would be beneficial.
