2016 Primary Assessment

• New EYFS Baseline(s)• EYFS Profile (we have always had this and this will not change)• Phonics Screening (we have done this for 3 years now, anyone

that fails resits in Year 2. There are talks that this maybe carried out in Year 3.)• New KS1 Teacher Assessment informed by new Tests (tests that

are given as well as Teacher assessment. There is now a mental arithmetic and a reasoning paper)• New KS2 Tests and Teacher Assessment- Reading, writing +

SPAG and Maths (3 papers). The school could be a pilot for a Science test, we will find this out nearer the time.

Parents will be told this and also given next steps for learning. The new curriculum is now focusing on

targets to move learning forward.

Schools can choose the assessment without levels scheme. Kirk Smeaton have taken the Chris Quigley Milestones

assessment.

When the children have learnt a new skills it will be ticked off their milestones. Over the year this will be monitored to show how much progress.
