2 Matters ArisingDiscuss about the selecteddesign chosen last week TheLalang Extractor by focus on

comparing the selected designwith other designs.

Khairuddin statedthat Lalang

Extractor is simpler

than hovercraft andstretcher, it also

have fewer parts to

be manufacture.

Khidir stated thatLalang Extractor is a

green technology

because most of theparts can be recycle,

also the design does

not need high capital

to be manufacture

for the Lalang Extractor

-Khairuddin acquired

the lawn mower blade

from the hardwareshop.

-All team membershave found all suitable

material in the Faculty

of MechanicalEngineering machine

workshop which is mildsteel hollow bar, plates

and solid rods.

Fabrication of the handle bar.

The handle bar consist of two

component (component 1:hollow bar 65cm x 2.5cm x

2.5cm),(component 2: hollow

bar 24cm x 2.5cm x 2.5cm)

Handle bar was

fabricated by

Shafiq by cuttingthe hollow bar by

using hand saw and

bending the bar

according to thedesign angle.

3 Current Matters

Fabricating the mainframe. Themainframe consist of 2

components (component 1:hollow bar 47cm x 2.5cm x 2.5

cm), (component 2 : 40cm x

2.5cm x2.5cm)

Zikri, Khidir andGhazali cut the

hollow bar to theappropriate

dimension and do

some grinding onthe surface.

2 Matters Arising-Fabrication of the chassis.

The chassis consist of three

component (components 1:hollow bar 30cm x 2.5cm x

2.5cm x 2 pieces), (component

2: hollow bar 34cm x 2.5cm x

2.5cm x 3 pieces) andcomponent 3 : hollow bar

26.5cm x 2.5cm x 2.5cm)

Hollow bars were cut

by Zikri and khidir by

using power saw andGhazali continued to

drill a hole for 8mm

diameter on the chassis.

3 Current MattersJoining of the chassiscomponents

The chassis componentswere welded together

by Shafiq andKhairuddin by using

MIG welding.

2 Matters ArisingFabricating the blades. Theblades has two components

(components 1 : solid bar 10cm

x 2.5cm x 0.5 cm x 6 pieces)and (component 2 : solid plate

34cm x 5cm x 0.5 cm)

Solid plate was cut byShafiq and Zikri by

using power saw and

was grinded to have theappropriate shape

according to the design

of blade and both blades

components was warewelded together by using

MIG welding.

3 Current Matters1.0 Joining of handle bar and

the main frame.

2.0 Preparing the design report.

Shafiq and Khairuddin

do some welding for thehandle bar and the main

frame components by

using MIG welding.

Khidir and Ghazalifocusing on completing

the Morphological Chart

and the Gantt chart.

0.6cm x 2 pieces)

Solid plate was cut byGhazali by usingpower saw and was

grinded.

3 Current Matters-Fabricating the brackets.

(Dimension 5cm x 6.7 cm x 4pieces)

-Joining of main frame to theblade holder.

The brackets was

fabricated by Ghazaliby cutting plates to

the appropriate

dimentsion and then

Khairuddin and Zikri

continued to do thehole for diameter of

8mm by using handdrill.

The blade was weldedby Shafiq and

Khairuddin to the

main frame by using

MIG welding.

acquired by Khairuddin

from hardware shop.

3 Current Matters-Fabrication of the wheels

axle consist of solid rod (15cm x 2cm with 2.4

diameter)

-Joining of the wheels axle to

the main frame

-Fabrication of the bladecover:

(Dimension 30cm x 5cm)

Solid rod was cut by

Zikri and by usingpower saw and Ghazali

drill a hole of 8mm

diameter for the wheels

stopper.

Shafiq weld by wheels

axle and the main frameby using MIG welding.

Blade cover wasfabricated by

Khairuddin by using

rubber tube and

aluminum plates.
