What drives the growth of hate groups?• Fear and uncertainty – some factors include:

– The economic crisis

– Terrorist attacks - 9/11 and other attacks around the world

– Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, plus threats of more wars

– The election of a black president in the U.S.

– The fear in western nations, of a future where white Christians will no longer be in the majority
