How to make a gift There are several ways to make an Annual Gift to New Life Academy.

• Online. Our giving site is safe, secure, and convenient!

To give by credit card or to make a pledge, go to www.newlifeacademy.org/support-nla and click on “Donate Online Now.”

• Pledge. You may pledge a gift amount through the NLA website listed above or call the Advancement Office with your intended support. Our fiscal year runs from July 1, 2013-June 30, 2014, so you have until the end of the fiscal year to pay your pledge.

• Check. Make the check payable to New Life Academy Educational Foundation and send to the Advancement Office.

Mail to: 6758 Bailey Road, Woodbury, MN 55129

• Matching Gift. Gifts to New Life Academy may be doubled or even tripled through matching gifts programs, whereby many companies match contributions made by employees. Check with your employer to find out if you are eligible for a matching gift.

• Gifts of Securities. Securities are the most common form of property given to non- profit institutions. New Life Academy encourages gifts of stock, bonds, and shares of mutual funds. With a gift of appreciated securities held for the required holding period, donors are entitled to a charitable deduction for the full fair-market value of the stock in the year of the gift. The first step is to call New Life Academy’s Advancement Office or email a completed Securities Transfer Form to Craig Schmalz at [email protected].

All donations are tax-deductible.

Throughout the school’s history, New Life Academy has had a

growing culture of philanthropy and giving. This culture continues

to allow our school to flourish and become one of the top non-

denominational Pre-K through 12th grade Christian schools in the

metro. Our Annual Giving program is supported each year by

parents, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents, faculty, and

corporations. It is the mainstay of the school’s fundraising efforts,

and the money raised each year through Annual Giving is used to

amplify the budget and distinguish our school.

The culture of giving here at NLA is healthy, generous, and broad-

reaching. Last year more than 576 donors contributed $769,000 in

our annual campaign. That is an impressive number of supporters

and dollars for a community our size. Clearly, the mission of

Christian Education is dear to many—and we see the fruit of it in

the lives of our students every day.

All annual giving is recognized alphabetically in the Annual Report.

Culture of Giving

Directing Your Gift Through the Annual Giving Family of Funds Direct your gift through the Annual Giving Family of Funds.

The Annual Giving Family of Funds represents the most fundamental elements of the school program and allows donors to direct gifts to areas of interest. Each year, the school relies on annual giving contributions to provide special resources for students and faculty. You may direct your gift to an area of specific interest within the Family of Funds (see right) or choose the Area of Greatest Need, and the school will decide where the funds will be allocated.

The Annual Giving Family of Funds allows you to direct your giving to areas of personal interest while supporting essential elements of the Academy. These gifts strengthen and sustain the extraordinary opportunities of a New Life Academy education and have an immediate and direct benefit for every child that attends NLA today and for years to come. The funds described on this page represent seven ways you can direct your giving and have an impact in the area that matters to you most.

We invite you to join in.

Area of Greatest NeedAnnual gifts provide support for operations, programs, and advancements that strengthen academy programs and infrastructure. Annual contributions to this fund provide unrestricted support to the area of greatest need.

Tuition Assistance FundAnnual gifts toward Tuition Assistance Fund provide assistance to students whose families demonstrate need through an independent financial aid application process and who would otherwise likely not be able to attend New Life Academy. An annual gift to the Tuition Assistance Fund is your avenue to helping your neighbor provide an education for their kids too.

Spiritual Development FundSpiritual development for each student is at the very heart of the mission of the Academy. Guest speakers, special projects, outreach opportunities, student leadership development, and chapel offerings are yet another mission-appropriate way for you to financially support the Academy.

Faculty Development FundThe Academy strives to recruit and retain a diverse faculty who teach to the highest standards, are passionate about educating your kids, and are excellent Christian role models. Gifts to the Faculty Development Fund provide opportunities for professional growth and development, and help ensure that all teachers receive the resources to be the best they can be.

Athletics FundGifts provide funding for the physical education and sports programs, along with equipment, uniforms, field fees, and travel for all athletic teams.

Fine Arts FundGifts support theater productions, visual artists, musical instruments, costume and set design, and community involvement.

Technology and Innovation FundAnnual Giving provides funding for teachers to facilitate student learning through innovative, challenging, and inspiring differentiated instruction using state of the art technology such as campus-wide smart boards and one-to-one computing devices.

Your participation in Annual Giving is deeply appreciated by students, teachers, and the entire NLA community, and it will have an impact for generations to come.

“...your participation in the school through Annual Giving continues to have a direct benefit

on not only your child but all the bright and talented young people entrusted to our care.”
