The dead Elephant beer package is a reimagining of the current beer label. It is based off of the story of jumbo the elephant who was a circus elephant who later died in a train accident. There are two types of beer: the light beer and normal beer. The light beer rep-resents the life of jumbo. His eyes are filled with life and he has a traditional circus headdress. The normal version has x’s over his eyes and a conductor hat representing his death.
I wanted to create a beer that was fun and would appeal to a younger demographic. The illustration style provokes a sense a humour to balance out the dark backstory of the subject while having the fun aspect of the circus.
